    360 price drop

Microsoft cuts price of high-end Xbox 360 by $100 - Plugged In - Yahoo! Games

not like anyone didn't see this coming anyway.

I didn't see it posted, so I thought I'd put it up, since the PS3 thread seemed to be getting so much love. Maybe those with a PS3 will contemplate getting a 360 as well now? I have a 360 and am seriously mulling over getting a PS3, that's for sure.

From what I hear the 360 Elite is no longer packaged with the HDMI cable or the component cables, just the SD composite cables. Apparently Microsoft was using $100 HDMI cable for the Elite!

If only they lowered the price on the hard drives for the 360. I've been wanting to upgrade my 20GB to something bigger, but fuck paying $100 for 60GB or $150 for 120GB. If I were to buy one at that price, I might as well buy a new system with this price cut, since my extended warranty is out and I don't have an HDMI out on my system.

I actually just upgraded to the 120GB myself, could have waited and bought a new system but I'm a perpetual cheapskate when it comes to stuff like that.

Enticing price but the 360 really has nothing coming out that interests me and the drop doesn't even matter considering you have to pay for online and wifi. Nothing really worth paying to play coming out that's not multiplat.

This is kind of angering since I paid $450 for the elite.

@Taco: The HDMI cables retailed for $50 :3 I believe that's what they are/were anyway. I think it's proprietary also.

It's not proprietary, I don't even use the HDMI cable that came with my elite. I use a $1.50 12ft HDMI cable I purchased off amazon.

Another reason I'm apprehensive to upgrading my hard drive is having to switch them when I play certain games. Is there an easy method to transferring saves/DLC between them?

memory stick for saves, as for DLC I don't think there is a good way to do it.

Seems easy enough, is there a reason they don't sell it in many stores? Searching for it on Amazon gives me nothing, but a few online stores through a google search come up with what looks to be a few knockoffs.

Ya my bad, for some reason I read it as you were wanting to upgrade to an Elite and were worried about transferring your stuff. Anyway if you end up going that route you can call Microsoft and explain the situation and they will send you one.

Having to pay $100 for the official wi-fi adapter is a huge turnoff for me.

Mine's being used for my PS3 also, I just thought that you had to have the microsoft cable to use HDMI out on the Xbox.
