Kingdom Death Monster 1.5 and Reprint (Kickstarter)

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...15/description

So years ago a board game came around. It was a mad thing, that would never have any success, between it's style and cost, in normal distribution channels. (You will not see it at Target, Barnes & Noble, and certainly not Toys R' Us.)
It's a tabletop game that can be best described as a combination of Dark Souls, Dragons Dogma, Monster Hunter, and Berserk.

But this thing called Kickstarter had been created, so lets give it a try there. It got funded to the tune of 2 million dollars, and while production took a long while through a few delays, the core game and add-ons got made and shipped out, the product was good, the campaign was a success. The game even has a small but amazingly active subreddit.

But this did not put the game into general production. Once all the backers got their copies, there were not very many loose copies left. A number were sold at conventions and elsewhere, but now they're all gone, you can't get/play the game unless you know someone who owns it. And doing a normal production run then hoping to make a profit selling it in stores isn't feasible.

So between that, and the game being able to benefit from some rules tweaks and balancing found once it entered general play, there is now a new Kickstarter campaign to produce the new material, and new updated base copies of the game so new players can get a shot at them.

The Kickstarter went up yesterday. It has already hit 3.3 million dollars as I post this (1 mil, 20 minutes after launch), and the campaign runs until early January. It's the 14th most funded game on KS and it ain't even done yet.

For BGers who happened to already back the game years ago and have the core game.
$60 gets you the 1.5 update (there is also about 450 limited $50 versions left to grab as I post.)
$195 gets you 1.5 update, Gambler's Chest, and The First Hero add-on.

For BGers that missed out and never got the game, or never heard of it at all at the time.
$250 gets you the new 1.5 Core game
    $350 gets you 1.5 and Gambler's Chest
$750 gets you 1.5, Gambler's Chest, and the 12 already existing add-on expansions.
$972 is a limited tier with 600 left as I post that gets you 1.5, Gambler, and all NEW add-ons, pinup, and promo minis for this Kickstarter. (And a t-shirt)

    and finally
$1,666 is a limited tier with only 64 left as I post, that gets you the complete package.
1.5, Gamblers Chest, all new add-ons, pinups, and promos
and all old add-ons, pinups, and promos from the original Kickstarter. Pluss a t-shirt and some additional minis that the creator did before making the game.

Backer fulfillment is planned to happen in waves
2017 will send out the core game and the 1.5 update
2018 will send out the Gambler's box and pinup/promo minis
2019 will send out new add-ons
2020 will send out dunno, but the creator will likely update in the next few days after getting over the shock.

I very much recommend you look at this, and the original kickstarter to see what it is. Yes it's pricy, it's understandable if you can't bust for it, but it IS worth it if you can, or can justify it.

The name sounds familiar, is this the game with the dick skirt twincest satan? An old friend paints mini figs as a hobby and showed me that, but I don't think she even plays the game.

Yes, though that mini is just a pinup, it doesn't have any game rules. Other such infamous pinup minis would be Grand Mother, Wet Nurse, Forge God, and The Scribe. Before the game years ago, and still now, the studio does stand alone art figure runs, and the focus is on Giger and Miura style horror.

I've been waiting for a reprint for a while and managed to get in at the $300 level for the core game and gambler's chest. I'm really excited to see what all gets revealed over the course of the KS.

He also just announced that the rulebook will be hardcover!

And since it's been done now twice in a row, it seems the running gag for this campaign is the new kickstarter pinup minis aren't cheesecake, but beefcake.
    So there's that.

Heads up, the kickstarter ends today (check the site for when, in your local time.).
18 thousand backers, and almost 11 million funded as I post.

Unless some pledges get dropped and you get a snipe in, the only options left are:
$60 upgrade to 1.5 for existing owners.
$195 gambler's chest, new First Hero expansion, and 1.5 upgrade for existing owners.

$250 for full 1.5 core box for new owners
$350 for full 1.5 core box and Gamblers Chest
$750 for full 1.5 core box, Gamblers Chest, and all 12 pre-1.5 expansions. (Normal MSRP for the 12 expansions together is $900, and the core box is $400. So yes, $550 in savings, plus the bonus box.)

The only way to get all the other stuff from the campaign is as add-ons, which are also discounted from what they will be after the kickstarter.
Shipping costs are involved, read that shit on your own. Idk if you need to include it in your KS pledge, or of it will be charged later separately (which is my assumption, but again, idfk).

But the total cost options are
    EVERYTHING (for those with nothing): $2730 + $25 for a t-shirt
Everything gameplay (for those with nothing): $2000
Everything new gameplay (for those with everything old): $1225

"Uh, I'll get the core & expansions at retail later, what do I need to get so I don't miss any gameplay stuff" : $560
($5 Base Pledge, $150 Gambler's Chest, $40 Campaigns of Death, $40 Super Survivors, $120 for Candy & Cola, Amy, Pathfinders, Drifter, $60 for False Messengers, and $125 for Promos of Death.)

    Last 20 minutes.

3 package pledge levels were added, still seem available.

$1,065 for Gambler, 1.5 Update, and all new expansions.
$1,650 for Gambler, 1.5 Core, and all old and new expansions.
$2,500 for almost everything (incl. pinups)

You'll still need to get the Campaigns of Death, Super Survivors, and Promo category separately (should be +$385 for everything).

Also there was a reveal for a hard plastic version of the showdown/combat board, +$100.
