    Oblivion must have mods?

I've started back playing Oblivion again and wanted to mod the living shit out of it to make it play great.

Current list of mods I have:
Female EyeCandy - Body Replacer(nude) 1.0 - Gotta have tits everywhere right?

Oblivion XP mod - make it kind of like WoW xp showing
Oblivion XP at The Elder Scrolls Nexus - Oblivion mods and community

I'm running the game at max settings but things just seem out of place, graphical speaking.

I've gotten to the point where I wanted to buy Oblivion for 360 and play it vanilla with no mods and such but that's just crazy talk.

    Spoiler: show
Or if you have a better nude mod because this one is shit

I have base oblivion, no isles or whatever else was made, but I may buy them.

Was there ever an interface mod to make it more like Morrowind, rather than the tabcrastic console-ported crap?
(used to use an interface mod that tripled the amount of items on display, but that still doesn't help much)

Well I found this UI change that fixes it to not feel like the console versions.

    edit:

added said mods in post = crash non stop so I'm reinstalling it...

From what I remember of the game, Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul was a good mod for it, had a ton of interesting changes to the game for the better. Also, playing the 360 version is a huge mistake if your computer can load oblivion fast. 30 seconds between areas is not fun.

Edit: http://www.oscurogamedesign.com/down-game-ooo-high.html for that particular mod.

Obscuro's overhaul is a must. Static mob levels!

I was thinking about playing this game and was gonna ask if I should go for the PC version as opposed to a console version, but I think the topic itself answers my question.

    Absolutely must-have:

    Spoiler: show

Unofficial Oblivion Patch and Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch - Fixes tons of bugs Bethesda never got around to fixing. If you have Shivering Isles, install that on top of the normal version.
Oblivion Mod Manager - Absolutely must have if you're planning on having any more than one or two mods intalled. Makes everything soooo much easier, especially when you get used to using mods in OMOD format.
Wrye Bash - To be used with the above, lets you control your mod load order, which is important to avoid conflicts when you have a lot of mods.
Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) - Allows quite a lot of extra stuff to be done with oblivion scripts. You won't actually use it directly if you don't do any modding yourself, but a lot of good mods require you having this installed.
FCOM: Convergence - getting the entire things is optional, but install at least the latest version of OOO. Use the CheatSheet to make sure you're properly installing everything.

Lera and Pizz Hiyoko Store - Tons of equipment
Apachii Goddess Store - More Equipment

Optimized Distant Land MAX - Better performance by turning down quality on distant land textures without losing much in visuals. Ignore only if you have a ridiculously powerful computer.

SPAM Level System - Attributes are determined by class and type of character you pick, not by what skills you use. You'll never have to pointlessly grind useless skills to get decent stats. It does require making a new character though. It also comes with a bunch of nice customizable options.

Herbalism and Harvest Flora - Makes gathering plants more useful and leveling alchemy less boring. In OOO you're probably going to want to have alchemy unless you're really going hardcore on restoration+alteration spells.

Supreme Magicka - My favorite magic mod. Massive improvements on anything magic related: makes magic better in general, alchemy and enchanting become a ton more useful, etc. You don't absolutely have to get this, but I'd recommend getting at least some kind of magic related mod, Oblivion's default magic system is pretty lame.

Streamline - A performance mod that constantly makes minor tweaks to your performance settings for you in order to maintain good framerate. You can configure it to have different settings during combat (so you don't lag at the most important moments), periodically clean video RAM memory buffers, and several other minor performance tweaks.

Operation Optimization - Does quite a lot of optimizing on most of the large meshes used in-game to improve FPS, without any visible loss in quality.
Polys Be Gone! - Lowers the poly count on mundane objects that are all over the place in the game (i.e. models of rocks that are used like 46000 times).
DarkUId DarN - A pretty good UI mod. There's several re-colors of it available if you don't like the red.
Phinix Waterfix - Makes water look cooler, both from outside and from underwater envoironments.

    Character/Body mods:
    Spoiler: show

[NSFW]Ozmo's High Rez Textures - dramatically higher quality textures than the default oblivion ones. The file size is pretty huge, but it has a nice custom installer and once you set it up you never have to look at it again. It's hard to tell in screenshots, but it makes an enormous difference in-game and you should be able to run them even on a decent computer if you have other performance mods to keep everything else from hogging your memory.

[NSFW]Set Body and Set Body Self - Lets you change your body mesh on the go, female characters only. Only changes your nude mesh (i.e. you won't see any difference when wearing any gear that replaces your body mesh with clothing). Obviously NSFW.

TESEyeCandy has more of this stuff if you want, for both female and male characters. Almost everything there is about character and equipment mods.

    Extras:
    Spoiler: show

Chingari and Ismelda's Demon Race - My favorite custom race. Flying is always fun. There's a bunch of decent other custom races, but they're usually just some other version of elf (although, granted, the best ones do look a ton better than the default oblivion "elves", especially with HQ texture mods installed). Search on TESNexus if interested.

Enchanting Skill - Makes enchanting a skill, allows you to get decent armor even early on, so long as you have some decent magic skills. You can make useful gear at lower levels and awesome stuff at the higher levels.

Cyrodiil Terrain Map Additions - Makes the map look better, displays more areas. Most useful with the other mods that add the extra areas this map can support.

CM Partners - Basically lets you have NPC party members. There's a huge amount of pre-made partners with custom logic that use this mod, just do a basic search on TESNexus for CM Partners.

DMC Stylish Animation Replacer - Better looking combat animations, especially for 2Handed weapons. Most of it is only really visible in 3rd person, but even changing the default "weapon drawn" poses you get in the menu is reason enough to dowload this. It's a fairly small bunch of files anyway.

Unofficial Lv30 Francescos Leveled Items - One of probably hundreds of weapon mods. I jut picked one of my favorites to get you started, searching will bring plenty more if you care for them.

Ren+Soya's - Lots of hair, all of the default oblivion ones are horrible.

That's all I can think of for now. You can always find more stuff by picking a category in TESNexus and browsing through all the mods. There's always a few gems buried underneath all the mediocre and bad ones.
