    Possible Upcoming Canadian Election

If you just want to post "lol Canada" ->

For those who are paying attention, what do you think of the possible upcoming Canadian Election. Think Ignatieff has what Dion didn't? Think Harper will bait the opposition on hoping for a Majority? Think Layton will finally vote with the Government to avoid the whole mess? Think this is really fucking retarded and they should stop fucking around?

Personally, I think this is a really bad time for Ignatieff to be picking fights with Harper, and he should really fire any advisor who says otherwise.

Who was the guy that dissolved parliament in order to avoid a vote of no confidence, and what exactly came out of that?

All politics are corrupt. Let's talk about how much money they steal from us and maybe then I'll be interested for a bit and then not do anything about it because I'm a piece of shit U.S. Citizen who takes it up the ass on a daily basis by a government I didn't put into power but am too pathetic and lazy to remove from power.

Harper (the current Prime Minister) did that. The only outcome was that Dion quit as leader of the Liberals and Ignatieff was voted in. Harper took a dip in the polls for a while, but seems to have gotten that back.

I don't keep up but what I do see/hear is all the anti-Ignatieff ads

what's his story anyway? seems he's been gone doing whatever for a ton of years and has come back rather opportunistically to lead the liberals, but I openly admit this is 100% derived from info brought to me by the conservative party lol

Yo Canada I'm real happy for you, and I'll let you finish your elections but America just had one of the best elections of all time.

There was a federal election just last November.

Personally, I think it's a bit of a bad time for political games. It does seem as if the economy is started to recover a bit, why take chances when whatever is being done seems to be working?

The liberals are completely coming off as crying 6 year olds.

I dont like Harper at all but Ignatieff is pushing a little too hard for an election that won't do anything for his party. Polls show that a vast majority don't want another election and by pushing for one he is going to piss a lot of people off. He was making headway in gaining support that had been lost due to Dion and he should have stuck with that instead of doing this "try-try-again" strategy that the liberals have been doing over the last 5 years.

That's the great thing about the Canadian system. Oncce a U.S president is elected, America is stuck with him (or her) for four years. In Canada, the term is based on how long you can actually keep Parliament happy. If they decided they don't like you and vote against you on something, government falls and there is an election.

Of course, this has resulted in an awful lot of elections in the last decade. It seems like we're always going to the polls.

I don't want another election and would probably just vote NDP beause the Liberals and Conservatives piss me off.

Kinda rare for an American but I find the Canadian & British elections fascinating to follow. When you don't have exposure to the campaign rhetoric or advertising it feels different, or maybe it's because this damn country is so friggin' self-absorbed that sometimes you need a break, or just curiosity about different governmental frameworks.

Anyways carry on (and gooo NDP!)
