Never mind, I don't have enough RAM <.<
Never mind, I don't have enough RAM <.<
I wouldn't even try playing with less than 2gb, 4gb if you want it to be smooth and not swap to disk a lot.
Ok, so I updated my memory. When I go to try and launch the game, I get an error that says "We're sorry, Aion has encountered and error and has to close."
This is followed by something that says it is having an issue with a file
C:\DOCUME~1\MADVIL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\3bcc_appcompat. txt
When I try and find this file, it does not show up. Has anyone else had this issue or can help. I checked and double-checked and I have the game downloaded, the serial code applied and I meet all the PC requirements. NCsoft is closed on the weekend of their launch for pre-orders (great customer service) and I need help.
appcompat.txt - Google Search ?
Appcompat.txt is simply a reporting file used when uploading error reports to Microsoft. You've seen the message asking you if you would like to "report this error to Microsoft"? Appcompat.txt is a file that is uploaded if you say yes.
Ok, found out this is an error with a .dll file. I guess the fix is to uninstall and re-install. I hope to go this game is worth it. I already spent almost $300 just to upgrade my memory (Go, go DDR1)!
Might have been a better idea to funnel that money to a new system build. That's almost half what my brother recently spent, for the whole thing.
I recently also upgraded my ram from 1GB to 2GB for Aion and it was a pretty good investment considering how much better the game runs now, I can even set anti-aliasing and the other settings at a pretty decent level, still running a single core processor.
Yeah, I am waiting for Christmas to get a laptop. When my buddy built my PC for me, it was like "THE" gaming PC. Now it's just a mad dinosaur.
Now, I was still running into more issues, but I was able to solve them. I have 3 PCI slots on the mother board. The motherboard specs say it is upgradeable to 3 gigs. So I bought 3 1gig cards. Now my slots look like this || |
I was having issues with my system freezing. I took my card out of the furthest slot and now it all works fine. Guess I am heading back to the PC store to get my money back for one card.
Not bad for a guy who didn't even understand why I couldn't play the game with only 1gig of RAM lol
Ok, update. Problem not solved. Everytime I try to launch the game it gives me an error saying something about crysystem.dll and that the game has to close.
Anyone know how to fix this? Also, please include directions. I'm not computer literate enough if you just say "Just delete xyz file." Also, I use windows XP if that helps for directions.
I'd say try this link to update your directx drivers: |MG| DirectX End-User Redistributable 9.27.1734 (August 2009) Download
Might want to make sure your video driver is up to date before that.
