I grew up with this book in elementary and now I'm kind of not surprised to see it made into a movie

Wow, I forgot about those books. I'm intrigued what the movie will be like.

Please dont fuck up my childhood the way you did with Dragonball.

I've seen many of the trailers and it looks amazing. The book was kinda short to be made into a full length movie, so I'm sure there's going to be a lot of deviation (looks like some out of world and real world scenes). I'm going to have to open up my tote of old books and read this again.
Oh fuck God no. Just don't fucking well do it.
Yes I'm pissed - I'm pissed more than anything else because it's a book that we use a LOT in schools and if there's a movie of it we'll not be able to use it for kids' writing and stuff as easily cos all we'll get will be regurgitated crap from the movie. Least they've kept Max dressed right in his suit.
It's not one of my favourite kids' books and it's not one I'll choose to read aloud for storytime etc but it is still a good one (sorry - bit of a kids' picture books junkie).
I think it looks amazing, makes me feel very nostalgic
So wake up sleepy one
It's time to save your world
Steal dreams and give to you
Shoplift a thought or two
All children touch the sun
Burn fingers one by one
By one
Will this earth be good to you?
Keep you clean or stain through?
So wake up sleepy one
It's time to save your world
You're where the wild things are
Yeah, toy soldiers off to war
Big eyes to open soon
Believing all under sun and moon
But does heaven know you're here?
And did they give you smiles or tears
No, no tears
Will this earth be good to you?
Keep you clean or stain through?
So wake up sleepy one
It's time to save your world
You're where the wild things are
Yeah, toy soldiers off to war
You swing your rattle down
(Hand puppets storm the base
Flags up now cannons rage
Hand puppets storm the base)
Call to arms the trumpets sound
(Flags up now cannons rage
All clowns head for the rear
Slingshots fire to the air
All clowns head for the rear)
Toy horses start the charge
(Slingshots fire to the air
Slip into the edge of death
Crossfire to the marionettes)
Robot chessmen standing guard
(Slip into the edge of death
Crossfire to the marionettes)
(all together)
We shall never surrender
All you children touch the sun
Burn your fingers one by one
Will this earth be good to you?
Keep you clean or stain through?
So wake up sleepy one
It's time to save your world
You're where the wild things are
Yeah, toy soldiers off to war
Off to war
Off to war
So close your little eyes
how are you guys embedding it in here?

I'm really looking forward to this and Alice In Wonderland
Have any of you read the book recently? My god I honestly don't know what the fuck I was thinking when I read it as a kid.
How could anyone not be surprised? Book was so fucking short.
I think it will be a very good movie. I kinda got goosebumps watching the trailer.
Surprised no one updated this since they've been playing trailers at select movies and posters are popping out.
October 16th
Where The Wild Things Are
Also, a game is on the way...
such a great use of this song in the trailer, and like dimmauk said, goosebumps for sure
Bumped for newish trailer
Made me feel like a kid again on the inside. Pretty excited to see this movie. I already know that it's not going to mirror the book, so I'm not going to dig it up and re-read it so I can nitpick every scene in the movie.
I'm surprised Michael Cera isn't in this movie. He could wear a hoodie the whole movie like all his others!
I also feel this movie looks amazing. The trailer just seemed so...right.
I don't think Arcade Fire is getting enough credit for making the trailer alot better than it actually is. I hope they get a percentage of ticket sales. Nostalgia/childhood memories aside, Where the Wild Things Are was an ok story saved by the artwork.
