    Wii Fit

I was really curious if anyone here on BG has used or continue to use this game. In the next few weeks I will be moving and place I will be moving I will have the chance to use this a bit more often and wanted to know if it is worth the time put into it, or has there been some negative things to this?

I am really looking for honest answers and anything successful you have to say about it.

We have and I have learned a lot of great things about EA Active Personal Trainer as more of a "work out" than WiiFit Plus. I got WiiFit Plus(this is the version you'll find in most stores. The original WiiFit is 89.99 but Plus is worth the extra 10 dollars) for my mother-in-law for christmas and it is a lot of fun. Work out wise, aside from the strength exercises and yoga its more of a game that you "feel the effects of" afterward, but continuous use and getting EA Active along with it should actually be a decent workout for you. Don't expect chisled gym results, but it really can help you stay healthy and limber

tl;dr: Underwhelming results. Lose about 100-150 calories for every 30mins on average. Wii Sports actually burns up more calories.

It wasn't worth the money for me, but then I am lazy. Guess you gotta ask yourself if you'll really use it. Otherwise its just like one of those ab roller things you get on late night TV, play/use for few weeks then chuck it in the garage never to be seen again.

I bought it with the intent of actually using it to lose weight. After having a few weeks, it became obnoxious constantly having to hand pick everything I wanted to do other being able to set my own work out routine. Granted this was the original that I got at launch so it's been ages since I actually used it like it was intended. Had it had work out plans you could do, I MIGHT have stuck with it more, but it's hard to say really.

That being said there was an article in one of the gaming magazines a couple months ago comparing all the work out games on the Wii and which was best for you done by a personal trainer. Wii Sports got a 2/5 (I think) while EA Active was 4/5 out of 5. If you really want the article I can peruse all my magazines when I get home and look for it, but the consensus was get EA Active you really want to lose weight playing a video game.

Wife and I use it pretty much every day. Yoga is nice since it's something I don't really do normally and it's helping to stretch me out a bit.

Aside from that lunges are lunges, always good, push up -> plank is good upper body training if you're not already super strong, boxing is good as it burns calories and for people looking to get a bit stronger overall but not omgwtfhugebuff boxing / martial arts have always been pretty much the best solution. It's nothing super intense but it's decent.

Once you unlock the push-up challenge it's about as good of a workout as you can get if you're not a serious fitness buff. If you can already do 100 push-ups off the bat and not break a sweat then wii-fit probably isn't necessary anyways. I do about 50 push-ups + some lunges and yoga daily and then other light workout not on the wii.

I don't have any experience with EA sports but wii-fit is fun, it's not a magic cure but it's really made both my wife and I aware of our posture and keeps us active when we're too lazy to go out.

tl;dr: it can't hurt to have it and use it but I do find that it's very easy to just say 'fuck it' and not do it if you aren't good with routines / don't have someone doing it with you daily to keep you motivated.
