FFXI/Windower Issue - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

Hey guys, after finishing the update, I keep getting this error when I log in. It happens as soon as I log in. I searched google and the C++ people all say to contact the manufacturer of the game. Any help?

Solved by taking Nexus Cape off. Spellcast and Nexus cape were causing an issue

Recieving some sort of error as well, with FFXI crashing when that first progress bar gets to 50% after confirming the end user agreement. Runs fine without windower, which of course will suck with ASA out and me unable to look up info on it.

Disable Recast.

Find your windower folder, go into the scripts directory, open init.txt. Find the line that says:

load Recast

and put two slashes in front of it, so it's like this:

//load Recast

Then you'll be fine.

Try installing the C++ Runtimes from Microsoft:
32bit x86
64bit x64
Or possibly copy MSVCRTL.DLL to the same directory as Windower's .EXE.

Try deleting the recast.dll file entirely out of the plugins folder. If that still doesn't do it, I have no idea.

I tried both of your suggestions and I logged in. Started to type and crashed again. So even with Recast deleted and Visual C++ reinstalled, still got the error ><

Looks like im having the same problem as you but mine is weird +1

Started loging fine, then when i got in Mog House got the crash #1, reloged, then looks like it was working fine again, then i talked to my moogle and it started to act weird saying things like Moogle: 0=(N/A) or some shit (there is an attrachment about it) then accessed to job change Menu and got the crash #2, reloged, tried to exit town then my character got stucked at the black screen when the game is about to ask you to set your Home point in your Mog House but i was able to talk with LS and see shouts, after like 3 mins got the crash #3, reloged, this time i got the dialog box of the Set Home point menu, but instead of the normal text got again 2 lines of the 0=(N/A) like my moogle, and wasnt able to select anything, at this time i decided to check files.

After i checked files everytime i log in it crashes after saying "Area: Aht Urhgan Whitegate" text. I cant think on another solution but

1.- Wait for Windower to be up and see if someone is having the same issue (something i doubt because nobody mentioned it here) or try to download the new hook.

2.- Reinstall everything, could be a HDD issue but dont think so.

Fact: If you have a Nexus Cape and SpellCast installed, and you try wearing it you will get that error.

Check Event Viewer? (If Vista or 7, hit Start, and then type "Event Viewer") Then go to Windows Logs > Application and find the crash. It should give more info and what file is causing the error.

I put the cape on and everytime I went to type it crashed everything. Took it off and I can type fine. Thanks alot!

Do I not get to play with recast now? ;;

Currently stuck in the MH to WG black screen (zone) can log in my mules fine but everytime i pick my main i get fucking booted, placed a call with my mule to have a GM move my main out, this is retarded. By the way i deleted recast completely for now and have even tried to log in on non windowed version to see if I would finally zone into WG but its not working... Waiting on GM

I'm not too sure my problem is related but I wouldn't be surprised if it were:

So, I kept crashing on Windower without loading any plug-ins at all and just tried loading FFXI normally without Windower, and encountered some messed up stuff with the text. I can't get anything done with the NPC's speaking this alien language to me. Tried getting Runic Portal pass since I have the click confirms memorized, but nothing was going through.
