Ark. cop suspended after using Taser on girl, 10

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas police officer who used a stun gun on an unruly 10-year-old girl has been suspended — not for using the Taser but for not having a video camera attached when he used it.
Ozark Mayor Vernon McDaniel says officer Dustin Bradshaw was suspended Wednesday for seven days with pay. McDaniel says the suspension is for not following department procedures because Bradshaw didn't have the camera on.
McDaniel wants Arkansas State Police or the FBI to investigate whether the use of the Taser was proper. The girl wasn't injured and is now at a youth shelter.
Police were called to the girl's home Nov. 11 after her mother couldn't get her to take a shower. Bradshaw says the mother gave him permission to use his stun gun.
Bradshaw's report says the girl was "violently kicking and verbally combative" so he delivered "a very brief drive stun to her back."

That's right parents, if you can't get your 10 year old child to take a shower, the proper action is to call the cops and give permission to tase her. Now, from what I've read in other articles, she DID apparently deliver a solid kick to the balls to the cop while he was trying to subdue her so it wasn't completely unprovoked - but the whole situation is just very fucked.

I think what the cop did is retarded as shit, but I can understand some parents being pushed to the limit because of current laws paranoia about parents smacking their kids.
