What kind of keybinding setups do you use?
I used to use a gamepad to play Aion (probably because of my FF11 experience) but I literally ran out of keys after a while, even with Joy2Key's second joystick function. (it allows you to map another "virtual" joystick when you hold down a button)
So I switched to the keyboard, but since I don't have that much experience with using a keyboard to play games (the only PC games I play are MMOs, which I play with a gamepad...I'm a dyed-in-the-wool console gamer) I find myself having a hard time adapting.
Currently I use my left hand to move and my right hand uses skills via the numeric keypad, but the problem with that is since I have to turn on NumLock to use the keypad, it won't let me hold down Shift! (since you get different keys with that) Some people have advised me to map my keys to QERFZXC instead (basically, the keys around the left hand movement ones) and I'm thinking about it, although I'm much more comfortable with my right and left hand divisions at the moment.
How do you guys map your keys? One worry I have is that since I use the mouse to look around, having to move my hand from the mouse to the right-hand side of my keyboard would cost me precious seconds in PvP (not that I PvP a whole lot anyway) Basically looking for any tips from more experienced gamers.
And on a totally unrelated note, I seem to have managed to write every paragraph with a parentheses in it. (like this!)

Aion indeed requires a great deal of buttonry and switching macro sets isn't very feasible in pvp stuff i've noticed. It's not so much the layout that's a problem, but the hardware not being adapated to the demands of the game itself.
I had similar problems and I did some research here and online and decided on a logitech g13 (my blue g15 simply did not have enough button to handle this game. fancy that...) and the razer naga to complete my gameplay experience.
g13 keybinds:

this setup allows me to access pretty much everything I need on the three main macro bars (note that i don't have 0/+/-/= on there so i just click em, but you can config these keys any way you like!!!!). It also allows me to control my movement on the ground and in flight. Honestly I am able to take down melee flyers simply because I have superior maneuverability over them due to this piece of equipment. For the sidebar, I use the numpad feature on the naga and put all my shield counters on it (templar ftw), pick up all, rest, marks etc. Basically stuff I will only use once per battle ala:
numpad example
a decent amount of people on here will recommend one or the other. the g13 is indispensable for this game, hands down. On the other hand, the mouse isn't programmable like the g13 just yet, however you can set the button on the side to represent the top number row of the keyboard or the numpad, so I went with the obvious choice to eliminate redundancy. the mouse also takes some getting use to, but once you've got it down pat (say, 1-2 weeks), it's a breeze. you'll never want to play without it.
If you are looking to enhance your gameplay bigtime right now though, get the g13. I promise you won't regret it. Customization is always made of pure win. Also, check this thread out.

I use the same setup the OP is using atm. Thankfully my hand is big enough to hit the Ctrl and Alt keys on the right side of the keyboard with the numberpad and I use the WASD keys to move and I just click on the sidebar (it just has things like potions and return on it). However this limits my ease of use of the camera a lot which I can see being a problem during PvP which I've been around more and more now that I hit 25. My problem is if I change from my current setup it might not be too easy to use since I have some arthritis problems (12+ hours every single day for years finally caught up with me a bit). I might try that G13 mentioned at some point after the holidays when I have a bit more money to work with. But how big is it really? My worry is it will be pretty small in my hands and force my hand into an awkward position.

I have small hands and the keys are pretty well-spaced for me, maybe even a bit of a stretch for the top row of buttons for me, but not too much. You can get an idea of how big the unit itself it in this video.

Meh, no fancy keyboard for me. I wish I could configure the controls to run like FFXI, but being forced to use a mouse makes that impossible. Though, if there's a way to loot stuff without the mouse, I'd be interested. Can at least grind more comfortably keeping both hands on the keyboard.

You can bind a key to loot. I have mine set to F so once it's dead just tap F and automatically loots all and I can be on my way.

I use 1 to 5, alt+1 to 5, crtl+1 to 4, f1 to f4, shift+f1 to f4, z, x, c, middle wheel click and my two side buttons on my mouse.
Q and E are Take off and land, A and D are strafe, I use the mouse to turn. and ~ is auto run.
I took the keybinding from when I played wow, the idea is if your hand cannot reach your movement keys while pressing other buttons your wrong, and your hand should never leave your mouse.

It seems I will have to look into this Naga thing since I am having great trouble with my current setup...keep getting killed in PVP especially since I need to bind keys for scrolls/pots/cc pot/heal pot/mana pot etc etc etc.
I don't suppose there is any way to rotate the camera with the keyboard?

Played Aion only briefly, but here's what I use in World of Warcraft.
Forward/Backwards: W/S
Strafe left/right: A/D
1,2,3,4
Q,E,R,F,G,T,C,V,B,Z
[Shift]+Q,E,R,F,G,T,C,V,B,Z
And then Razer Naga in Numpad mode for an additional 12 keys (Can do more with modifiers, but it's not really needed).
Total: 36~
Ctrl/Alt combos aren't very comfortable on the hand imo. :X
Edit:
Auto run: Shift+W.. give it a try, you'll <3 it.

Target closest enemy = Caps
Change Weapon = Z
Shards = X
Profile = C
As far as skill binding,
Q, E, R, F, TAB, S, 1, 2, 3, 4
Anything not in the vicinity of wad i don't use.
