this for some reason offends me, i'm not sure if it has something to do with the true nature of the story not containing any actual black people (a la Pocahontas, Aladdin, Mulan, etc), or if the reason could be the obvious marketing towards the black demo.
I was arguing with my wife about this today and it almost seems to me that it would offend alot of blacks also seeing as (to me at least) this is not a story that has originated from the roots of this particular race (as the films mentioned above were/are even tho highly Americanized admittedly).
are black people offended by snow white or sleep beauty which were created in an era that black people were not so targeted for this type of film.
so am i a racist? should i just let this go? buy it for my daughter who loves all disney movies?
OR
Why does a movie or a TV show have to be created that is all black? doesn't this just encourage more racism? or at least separatism from themselves and other races?
