WTB - Macbook
Hi,
I'm looking to buy an older Macbook to use for testing and troubleshooting and maybe eventually give away as a gift. Looking for either the 13" or 15" version from a couple years ago (or newer, if you're willing to part for it for below market value!) that's in fair to good condition. Hard drive and peripherals (outside of charger) not needed. Just want one that works.
What I'm willing to spend depends on what you're willing to give up. PM or post offers, thanks!

Bumping, its been awhile and only one guy responded and never heard back from him. Anyone with a Mac they're willing to part with?
-
I'm sorry, I only have a really really broken one. (though I'll happily part with it, but I don't think it's worth coughing up the cash to fix it)

mobo, hard drive, and possibly the inverter needs replacing. The mobo was frying the inverters (fried 3 of them, Apple only replaced the inverters, not the mobo, cos they didn't really listen to me), then finally died itself. It's a black macbook if you want to look at things.

Well, if you can PM me some pictures I'll consider taking it up as a project. Let me know what you'd like for it and if you know how much it'd cost to ship overseas

OK so it's a black macbook, not quite certain of the GHzness but it's an Intel C2D, around 2G or so. 2 or 3G of RAM, not exactly sure on that either, I THINK it's 3G though. I checked the RAM sticks but one doesn't say what it is (the other is 1G). 3G is the maximum for this machine anyway.
LCD is pretty good, when the inverter works. lol. I don't recall there being any dead pixels, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were 1 or 2. I'm not positive whether the inverter died before the mobo died or if the mobo died first, so yeah... I mean it's a pretty big wreck of a machine. Battery's all good and stuff, so if all else fails you could probably sell it for parts? lol.
If you just wanted to pay for shipping I'll probably send it over -- frankly it's just going to sit on the shelf and I'd throw it out when I end up moving from here. Also I'd feel bad for charging you money if it just ends up being total junk. If you feel bad about getting something for free and it ends up working, donate some $ to Doctors Without Borders or the Red Cross and I'll be happy

Yeah, its up to you, if you're willing to part with it I'll pay for shipping. If I can get it up and working without spending an arm and a leg I'll donate some money for sure

If it doesnt end up working my mom has a fully functional early MBP from around 2006-7 that she's been talking about upgrading.

OK Ceph if you like I'll wrap it up best I can and send it over, PM me your address. I'm sure you're good for it so I'll just tell you how much it was after, but my very basic guess is it'll be around 20-30 euro. I don't think I can get tracking or anything without sending it via a courier which is unfortunate (cos it'd cost like 5 times as much), lousy backward Belgian post.
