It's probably an ad, just like it always is. You probably got served a different ad than he did.

Install NoScript, use it. If you don't, you're just asking for it.

I get the same warning (I use Chrome at work, as it runs faster on the crappy internet connection).

Firefox also has that "This site might be infested with malware" warning if you go to a suspicious site but Wiki appears clean and NoScript isn't showing anything.

Firefox/Adblock/NoScript is pretty much a requirement if you're playing MMOs nowadays.

I use wiki all the time, and I have kaspersky. I never received any trojan warning for iframe until yesterday when i was checking out quests on wiki.

It eventually went away, but just an FYI

It's otherwiki, what do you expect?

Everyone needs to just direct all future article updates/additions to the wiki and be done with fraudwiki. Only reason the wiki falls behind is because people are too lazy to add to it and help it catch up, and so they use otherwiki and complain about lack of accuracy, blatant lies, research stealing, and malware. The wiki has no such issues, it just lacks volume... which admittedly is a big hurdle, but one we'd be wise to overcome.

Really? You're going to try to start this again? BG Wiki was a nice idea, but it failed, give it up.

This was the most significant edit that it had in the last week: http://bg-wiki.com/index.php?title=C...97&oldid=27912 (the only thing that wasn't someone editing their user-page, or copy-paste of Bonanza announcement)

That's the problem. We need more activity. As it is, otherwiki trumps the wiki for volume of information, but you have to weed out the inaccuracies, lies, and pixel-sized iframes.

Not trying to start anything, the fraud scandal is a dead horse by now. My point was more that we need more updates/additions to our own wiki. And I'll take any opportunity I can get to remind people of that.

Imagine if only two newspapers existed for you to get your info from. A trashy supermarket tabloid with an abundance of information, some of it possibly even true, or the A-section of the Times. I'd rather focus on getting more editors onboard with the Times to flesh out the paper than have to rely on the tabloid for my news because the A-section of the Times doesn't have everything I need to know.

The trojan on my girlfriend's pc was alureon.f, in case anyone else contracted it and wanted more info.. easy enough to google trojan name and get removal instructions.

    For all ye Firefox evangelists:

    http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2010/...-issue-on-amo/

Now and then malware slips through the filters and ends up as a Firefox plug-in. A little carelessness one day and one of these backdoors could hide into your favorite plug-in! You can't be too prudent.

As it is, otherwiki trumps the wiki for volume of information, but you have to weed out the inaccuracies, lies, and pixel-sized iframes.
I would like to venture that when bgwiki approaches the volume of otherwiki, it'll also compete in inaccuracies. I see enough inaccuracy on this board as it is. I don't see an inherent advantage to bgwiki, and judging by the vast disparity in volume it appears I'm not alone.

Anyone complaining about Chrome makes me cry..
Related note: Chrome has it's own Noscript and Adblock now. Check the extensions page.

Yeah I got em but issue is because the extensions are so new most of them are very buggy and dont work well.

Compared to firefox chrome is quickly catching up. Its the awesome new tab page that won me over.

I got something similar to that yesterday on Safari. I scanned but it found nothing, but I am also using a Mac.
