So I started to watch this today and saw all 7 episodes on Hulu. So far I really like its really on par with Hercules/Xena imo.
what do you guys think? anyone else seen it?

I rage every time I watch an episode but I'm not going to stop because I have a desire to see how much they can change from the books.
I feel they overdo it with the slow motion thing during action scenes, but other than that, it seems like a decent show.
I don't think the show is boring but for some reason I always fall asleep while watching it.
I haven't been able to make up my mind yet, I suspect it's just going to be yet another never ending show without any substance, but we'll see.
The woman is cute as hell though!
well thats really what they're counting on. They want it to be in the same vein as Hercules and Xena which is why they had to deviate from the book as they did. If they followed the book to the letter they would have open ended episodes (think LoTR endings) so they changed it to suit it. Terry Goodkind is still heavily involved in the writing its quite frankly I like the characters more then I did Xena and Hercules.
I haven't tried watching it yet. If I enjoyed the books, is it something that I'd like? I can't really see how a lot of the themes, torture, religion, holy wars and whatnot, would translate well into a television series. . .
I did like Xena, but didn't care for Hercules.
Well if you're looking for a carbon copy Book>TV you'll be disapointed but if you start off by watching it with an open mind you might actually enjoy it.
I really love the casting of the Gyro captain from the mad max movies as Zed.
It's really nothing like the books and if you go into the show wanting to "watch" the books be prepared for extreme disappointment. They took the general idea from the books so it has familiarity, and some of the story lines are "fun" because it goes into more back story w/the books didn't. But overall, it's a decent show to watch... I DvR them and watch it in the mornings as I get ready for work.. but they haven't had any new episodes for a few weeks now.
I believe they on winter break. New episodes air sometime next week.
I just saw it like 2 nights ago, and yeah I looked like a Xena/Herc remix. I liked it though.
The chick is way better then Gabriel, so it has potential.
I enjoy cliche.
I remember an old thread on here about this show. I found the books to be a little too much for me, but I finished them all.
As for how the books > TV series goes, couldn't really tell you other than I saw the first 2 episodes and was disappointed that they said Richard/Zedd were not acquainted prior. That and the fact that Richard didn't have the book memorized.
I watched the first Episode and I have to agree that it's not really terrible, but it was certainly not what I was expecting. Richard not knowing Zed made me rage, but that was the only change I couldn't handle. I was a bit sad they took out the bit with Michael groping Kahlan though, since it's actually an important scene for events later in the first and second book.
I'm sure it'll get better if I watch more since the first episode was mostly exposition.
Cast-wise, Zed and Kahlan are great, but Richard just annoys me.
I didn't read the books, but watched the first three or four episodes, and it seemed ridiculously cliqued to me.
of course there's going to be cliques. you think the bad guys and good guys would break their moral alignments and social circles to talk to one another? god
Ever beginning scene I really wanted to see was taken out or rushed through... after that I kinda gave up on relating it to the books and starting taking it for what it was... and it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't classify it as a "good" either. Something fun to watch or DvR and save for later.
I still can't believe they never added the whole pain/agony that's attached to the blade when Richard kills somebody... and the training at the tree when Richard first gets the sword. To me that made the sword significant... but meh
I don't personally care for the way the portray Zed. It's not that it's bad or anything, I just always imagined him as a Doc Brown from Back to the Future type of crazy/genius. They're just playing it a little to straight for me, Zed almost always brought the funneh when it was needed, and it's not happening here.
Overall I'm enjoying the show, but like most others I'm disappointed that they have deviated so far from the books.
