Online flight combat game
I was curious if there were any good online flight combat games? The more realistic the better.
Thanks.
Preferably PC.

A new one is coming out... let me edit this post in a minute after I find it.
EDIT:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogfigh...mputer_game%29
(Haven't played it myself)
Also I am not sure if Afterburner counts as a flight sim. Isn't it an on-rail shooter? It will suffice if you want look at aerial combat though. (Not "realistic") (Actually "Dogfighter" is probably not realistic either lol)

There's Afterburner on PSN. Haven't played it but it's very well reviewed for a $10 game.
edit: oh and Battlefield 1943 has um... interesting... flight combat, including a whole mode for it...
it's uh... interesting. lol
Wouldn't recommend that one, but it's there.

Ohhhh, Warhawk for the PS3 is kind of dogfight centric no? You'll have to ask someone with more experience. It also features ground/vehicle combat. Kind of like Battlefield.

Yeah Afterburner is definitely not a sim type game, it's an HD version of the old school game. It's a "shooter" in planes, basically.
But I believe it does have an online combat mode.
And yeah, Warhawk I forgot about, I haven't played it but from what I've heard it's excellent online flight combat.
Battlefield 1943 is theoretically realistic, but those are not fun planes to fly heh.

Polyphony Digital needs to make Omega Boost 2 and make it online capable, that shit would sell like a hot cake.

Do you mean arcade flight games that have a sim gimmick or an actual sim? For the former, the new IL-2 Sturmovic looks pretty good, or HAWX or something like that. For the latter, they don't really make them anymore, but the pinnacle of that genre was probably reached with combat flight simulator 3, which might still have some people playing online somewhere.

If you want something as close to a true Sim as you will get, nothing will beat Pacific Fighters in the genre.
Truly stunning considering how long its been out now(2004, but the graphics of the aircraft are still top notch), physics are very solid and feel as accurate as FSX(this is coming from a good authority), yet the immersion factor is much higher because of the stunning job they did on the 3d cockpits of all the aircraft, and the high frame rates you can get even on mediocre PCs.
If you want you can pick up IL-2 Sturmovik for dirt cheap or try the demo, its almost identical just with less variety of aircraft/less appealing maps/no aircraft carriers or naval combat.
Suggest getting a decent Joystick to really enjoy them.
I cannot vouch for now, but there used to be a solid online community for Pacific fighters, and it was relatively easy to find matches if you did a little searching.
