I need a few suggestions:
I loved Halo Wars, it was a great console RTS
And I am always in love with the total war series ( I own them all)
I need some new ones to play. Halp

If you like PC RTS also, I'd recommend the following:
Starcraft
C&C series possibly
Homeworld (3D in space RTS)
Civilization series
Warcraft series
I just reinstalled Rise of Nations last night, fun as hell. If you haven't played it, I suggest giving it a try. It's older but still one of my favorites.
Age of Empires 3 is hardly new but it is still a very solid game!
anything by relic
with company of heroes being my favourate
Company of heroes was really good
Age of Empires 2&3
Europa Universalis 3(only for hardcore strategy players, not for everyone)
Civilization 3&4 - Turn based, but great strategy games nevertheless
Rise of Nations
Starcraft
Warcraft 3
Certain C&C games.
Ugh not Warcraft III
I'm told EU3 is a pig even on modern systems and just doesn't run very well (a problem that has affected other Paradox games running the engine), but I'm curious as to why Hearts of Iron 2 didn't make your list. I'm told it's pretty much a masterpiece as far as ultra hardcore strategy games go.
RED ALERT 2 !! don't touch the 3rd one. it sucked.
Total War series
While not a real "RTS" they play like one
Company of heroes was probably the best RTS i've played. I liked RA2, c&c generals, and warcraft III a lot too, but thats just nostalgia now.
Age of Empires
Homeworld 2
Savage 2
Age of Mythology
Civ3/4 rock
RA2 was good(as was YR sorta... not worth it if the game does nto come as a combo tho do stay away from RA3 it changed far to much)
Starcraft is great still
Warcraft III was ok, I did not find it anything great, could be because I played it after most other games? idk it was good, but nothing must have like Civ3 was to me.
Oh yeah, I definitely forgot HoI. 2 was great and 3rd will be even better(its a paradox thingie, it takes them 2 patches to get it right). Still, I bought HoI 3 on day 1 and loving it.
And then there is Victoria series(its probably the most detailed/hardcore strategy out there)...first one is definitely not for everyone but 2nd one is under development and from what I've read on developers blog its going to be amazing. It has the potential to be the best Paradox strategy game.
Another amazing thing is that you'll be able to import saves from EU3 > Victoria > HoI 3. Say, I started as Ottoman Empire in EU3 at year 1399 and the game ends at 1821, I can import that save directly to Victoria 2 which covers the Victorian era (1800s) and then to HoI 3(WW2).
I'm not sure about EU3 technical problems to be honest, it works great on both my desktop(2years old) and laptop(3 years old).
Im trying to remember the name of this game, it takes place in like 1988 and Russia invades the US. >.> I wanted to play it just cant think of the name.
C&C series is pretty fun. 4 is even fun once you get past the changes.
