Do you eat in restaurants alone?

Any public place where you sit down to eat -- diner, fast food, whatever. If I'm out and I'm hungry, I will either find someone to go eat lunch with, or pick up something and bring it back home. If I have literally no other options I'll carry it out and eat it in my car. Other than the dining hall when I was in college, I always feel way too awkward eating alone in a public place.

I eat lunch between classes at school alone all the time

I go to movies alone too, if I want to see it and no one is available to hang out.

When I was at school I'd get lunch at the dining hall alone, like I said, but I always found a secluded area of the cafeteria and I'd always always always have a book or newspaper to read. I feel like people are staring at me or judging me if I sit there without having something to do or someone to talk to.

I won't go to bars/clubs/events/movies alone, either.

At school meant more away from home as I'll usually get McDonalds or Subway or something like that

I wouldnt like go to a restaurant by myself though that'd be weird and boring

The only people I see sitting and eating alone at restaurants are old people, which makes sense since all the people they'd be able to talk to are already dead

I try to avoid it, and that usually has the double effect of making me eat healthier by cooking at home. I wish I could go get a beer by myself sometimes though, but drinking alone at a pub with lots of carousing people around you speaking another language is really really sad
