Printer that is xp and vista compatable

I'm looking to get a printer that will work over my wireless network so my laptop with vista can print without having to email my document to my desktop with xp which has the printer hooked up to it. AnY suggestions would be helpful. Preferably a laserjet. Thanks.

Anything still on the market with a network connection should still support XP. MS hasn't dropped support for that yet. Everything sold in the store I work at still works with XP.

If you're looking for a cheap solution, you can just share any printers across the network as long as the computer it's connected to is on and on the network, rather than hooking up a printer directly into the network.

I tried to share like that but I can't find drivers compatable for my laptop. I hav an older hp laserjet 1150. Also, everywhere I said vista, I meant windows 7.

have you tried plugin printer directly to the system you trying to share it first? Cuz if is windows 7, it should work.

Yes. When I plug the printer in directly it works, but It will not print over the network.

Did you tell windows to search for a network printer? Or are you trying to print to the icon that just has the name/model number of the printer...

when you go to print it should have something like
"\\name of host computer\name of printer"
