    FFXI Connection Issues

I have a problem and I'm not exactly sure what is going on. Sorry if this post is a bit jumbled, just trying to get as much information in here that I think may be relevant.

I have been Jailed in FFXI twice in the last week. Both times I have been AFK in two different zones in game, standing still.

The GM's have told me it has something to do with lag and connection issues. They said that their auto Jail thing picked me up as using a third party software program.

Currently, my connection on my desktop (which is the machine I was jailed on two times) is running the internet on a wireless internet adapter that uses some type of software to help it run.

I have contacted SE support over the issue. They emailed me a few sugestions:

    Suggestions we have:
    1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services.
    2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC. TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535, also check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software /hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.
    3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem.

I am really a dumbass when it comes to networking. I have no clue wtf is going on. I really don't understand any of this, especially what to do on number 2. I believe my network is running through software (though i'm not 100% sure...)

At the time of my second Jailing, I was also running FFXI on a laptop and it was also running on my wireless network. The character that was running on my laptop did not get jailed.

I currently can't run FFXI through my ethernet because I think I busted the port. I am getting a PCI ethernet card sent in the mail.

I run FFXI using SE offical windower. I do not run any third party software except for fraps occasionally, but at the time of these DCs I did not have fraps open.

So I guess if anyone can understand my jumbled up post, how should I go about fixing this problem? Any advise would be helpful x_x.

What NIC card do you have in your PC?
What kind of router do you have? What model/signal? (G, N, etc)
What service provider do you use?

When you setup your router, did you leave it at it's default settings, or did you tinker with it?

I had my friend set it up for me, I think she changed it to WPA2 encrypted with a password but I think that's all she did.

Edit: I just got home so I looked up exactly what router I had and the wireless adapter
    Router

and the Adapter is Wireless N USB Pro Adapter

I think it is the same one I posted

I'm having a connection issue too, my PS2 runs the game fine, but my PC on the same wired connection times out for the connection to the game server after about a minute of being logged in on a character, and then it asks for my password to login again.

I'm on Alaska Communications Systems DSL, with a DIR-615 router, on WinXP, wired in via ethernet. I've manually configured the firewall with the same settings my old WRT54Gv8 had, but that thing could stay connected (I replaced it because it daily overheated and crashed streaming videos across my network from the DVR computer to everyone else and the DLink doesn't).
