Hi,

My wife noticed that I was getting some dark spots in the back of my neck. She states they have been there for a couple of weeks and I took a picture of them and I am concerned. I'll be scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as possible but I figure it might just be some type of dark spots forming? I've always been healthy, no meds etc. I'm 25. It's a little scary. Maybe it's an alergic reaction to something?

I'm not entirely sure what they look like but those could be signs of diabetes? Either that or some spider took a wiz on your neck one night...

Hopefully it's something minor like an allergic reaction.

Pretty difficult to make any guess with just a picture, not being able to touch or get a good look makes it nearly impossible. Definitely get it checked out and insist on blood work, though I'm sure your doctor will make you get some anyways. Chances are high it's nothing, but it's good to be safe.

Edit: Anybody in your family have anything like this? could just be a hereditary skin thing such as skin hardening.

I'd first go to a Dermatologist than a family doctor personally. Both are gonna want blood samples regardless.

None of my family has any that I know, however, I do have a birthmark that is a dark spot near my hip.

Damn, sounds scary. It seems it's been like this for 2 weeks or so but it's been getting lighter everyday/going away.

I don't see how it could be diabetes, if it was type1 you'd have known you had it many many years ago, and you don't fit the bill for type 2 at all from what I know about you zig. Unless you've gained like 200lb since our good old FFXI days.

That being said, I have no idea what it could be.
