    Networking help

So I'm a broke ass newly wed and college student and looking for a cheap method to get internet access on my 360 for Live.

I have my cable internet and computers hooked up on one side of my house with a wireless router which works for my PS3, I cant afford to buy the wifi adapter for the 360 right now so I'm wondering if there is anyway to set a laptop up next to my 360 and get wifi thru my laptop and bridge it over to my 360....

    is this possible?

inb4 run a cable.... I have 2 puppies who would chew thru that shit in a heartbeat

Specifically with Xbox no, but it's a simple connection sharing which I've done more than once.

Why is running a cable bad? Run a new cable/phone line outside to your room, or run the ethernet under the carpet/baseboard, or in/along the ceiling. Thats your cheapest and best option. Wireless is still a horrible option compared to wired, and if you ever wanna use your 360/PS3/PC together as a media server, it's going to be shit on wireless.

I use this method on my desktop, it works pretty good. The only thing i don't like about it is that it doesn't always connect to xbox live the 1st time. I usually have to go into my network settings on xbox and choose test connection, then it will sign on. I have both my xbox and ps3 hooked up to a switch which is then run to my desktop. I tethered my ps3 also so i could stream hi-def content to my ps3 via ps3 media server with no lag or buffering. Since I have wireless N on my desktop and router, its a better connection.

Alternatively, if you have a second wireless router, you can use that as a wireless adapter in a sense, by creating a network bridge. I do this for my pc since I'm too cheap to buy wireless cards and I happened to have a spare.

    On 360, no....

I have done it on PS2 with a crossover cable, and it worked pretty well.

Well, if you do go the route of running a wire sometime.........

You should pick up this bitter apple spray they have at pet stores. It did the trick on my german shepherd as a pup, he absolutely hated the taste of it and when he started to chew on something new he wasn't supposed to.......... he would actually cry/whimper when I would spray that stuff on it.
