I am loving Breakfast of Champions. What Vonnegut should I read next?
I'm getting back into reading for the end of summer, gonna pick up Mister B. Gone tomorrow but I could use some heady stuff like Vonnegut as well. Suggestions would be great.
I just finished reading this memoir by a guy who spent a year in NYC following the Bible as literally as possible. As someone who abhors religion I actually found it to be pretty respectable and insightful on Judeo-Christian practices.

nice one, that sounds like an interesting read
Anything Irvine Walsh is fucking golden. I'd suggest Marabou Stork Nightmares, or Trainspotting and its sequel, Porno.
My favourite Vonnegut is Bluebeard or Mother Night.
SHIRO, DID YOU READ TRAINSPOTTING YET?
I am almost positive it has been a year since I told you to and you said you'd get to it.
I'll be honest, I haven't.
But there's still stuff that I haven't read that was ahead of it in the queue from back then.
My wrists shall shed crimson tears over this.
Oh dear, what have I done.
The world a favor?
Shiro I find it kind of difficult to connect with you because you don't have equal parts of hatred and rage to complement your sadness
Certainly not equal parts of hatred and rage.
And not too much sadness, just things intimately related to it.
I'm reading Child of God by Cormac McCarthy now. It is delightfully weird.
Child of God is good but it's not one of his better novels.
If you haven't read any of his other stuff, definitely go for Blood Meridian. I've read a lot of different stuff that is fantastic, but Blood Meridian is consistently within my top 3 novels. If you like that, the border trilogy would also be worth a recommend (All the Pretty Horses, The Crossing, and Cities of the Plain). Of those 3, my favourite is The Crossing. It is absolutely sublime, but the other 2 are also great. And his most popular novel, The Road (of course), is probably his most optimistic but, really, despite its commercial success and popularity, it's not of one his better works.
Shiro what is the likelihood that my muscles are atrophying, my joints are calcifying, and my organs are failing?
Then why does every movement I make hurt and why does it feel like my body is filled with needles?
