17" inch laptop backpacks, any recommendations?

I finally decided to buy a laptop and I'm looking at backpack options. What I've nearly settled on is a backpack by a company named Slappa. What I've found so far is this particular backpack: http://www.slappa.com/MASK-KOA-Backp...2&category=650. It's a bit pricey but it looks really well made and has a lot of room for books and various gadgets.

What are some other options? I bought a fairly large 17" laptop so I fear I may not have a lot of options.

The dimensions of the laptop are:
    Height (rear): 1.77" - (45mm)
    Height (front): 1.75" - (44.5mm)
    Depth: 11.96" - (304mm)
    Width: 16.14" - (410mm)

    Any thoughts?

I have no personal experience, but when I saw the video they provide that gives a preview of it, I was sold. It's $15 cheaper than the one you looked at. This case though will be the one I buy, when I finally decide on what laptop I wanna buy.

Will last a lifetime, nuclear fallout, WWIII, etc.

Just query in your search for a laptop compartment in the backpack.. Most are triple padded/cushioned from the inside with a zipper slide in slot for the laptop itself.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. The Everki looks like a good backpack but I'm not completely sure how I feel about the compartments and overall design. The rain shield thing was pretty neat though. I actually looked at the Targus bag a bit and it's definitely a possibility. And finally, the Ogio's look really good but unfortunately I found 0 information about the laptop compartment sizes, so I'm concerned I may have space issues.

All of their backpacks are tailored to a minimum of 17" inches for laptops. The images should have a "inches" icon in the corner saying what they can hold size-wise.

    Goodluck.

If you're into messenger bags over backpacks, I recently bought this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JLW0OO

Made by Wenger. Has been pretty brilliant so far. There are a lot of pockets to stick things in, and the laptop area is decently padded as you'd expect from any laptop bag. Allows rooms for a couple binders or textbooks as well. The handle is reinforced with some kind of steel wire and allows for a good tight grip (I usually carry my messenger bag by the handle while its also over the shoulder, comfortable as fuck - first thing I generally wear out on a bag is the handle).

While its not completely waterproof, it did a bang-up job dealing with recent torrential downpours here in Santa Cruz which completely flooded nearby Capitola. I have a decent raincoat that was soaked through but everything in the bag was as dry as it was put in.

Protip: Buying this bag on Amazon is leagues cheaper than finding it at a Staples or a Best Buy (true of pretty much anything by Wegner).

I have this thing. It's hueg like xbox. But it fits my 17" dv9000 without troubles (even though the specs say Up to 15.6"). It's expensive, but I don't regret getting this lol, you can fit the world in this thing.
