Cancelled College Course

Has anyone had a cancelled course? Not a cancelled one for a day or so, but I mean they completely dropped it off your schedule and were no longer offering it?

My school cancelled my class which was supposed to start June 16, and they cancelled it (on the 15th) because there were only four of us enrolled, and they still haven't refunded me my money back. They keep giving me the runaround, saying it'll 'just be one more week'. When I ask them why it's taking so long, they tell me that they are either understaffed or the money is frozen. However, when I physically went to my school, the person ahead of me in Bursar hand over $3000~ for the Fall semester.

I don't know the names of the other three who would have been in my class, and I was expecting the money earlier.

How long should it take to get my money back

Usually the account/payment management is done by biweekly. So, it most likely you will have to wait within two week to one months. Usually it depends on which week is the payment week for your college, and when billing department is fully confirm on your situation.

Besides, you weren't expecting this money back before the class was cancelled, and as long as it stays in your record as a credit, it shouldn't be an issue.

Now, if the money disappears, then you've got a serious problem with the school.

You probably won't get your money until the next financial disbursement, as most financial aid offices are lazy and unproductive.

Just call them back and tell them you need the money to pay your rent and that since your class is cancelled it shouldn't take six weeks to get your money back. You never took the class, so there was never a reason for them to keep the tuition money.

I get financial aid, which covers my Fall semester totally, so it won't be credited to next semester's, that's why I'm getting mad. And I know I was not expecting the money back before the class was cancelled, but without the summer class, I'll be one credit short of graduating in the Fall, so now I have to take an internship. So they doubly screwed me over.
