Completly unrelated to ffxi, but I have a translating question..

I've looked everywhere else, asked everyone I know, tried every single "free translator" out there, including Babylon, and *nothing* and *nobody* has a clue, so far, of what this means. I think it's french, but that's just a guess. Maybe it's terribly spelled too, dunno. Please help in any way possible!

Ovewa Misure encor de cot nem geon.

it's either shorthand or creole or both.

    Hope that helps, lol.

Probably epicly mispelled. Google has most languages and the auto detect is fairly reliable...

edit: Oh hey that's your sig nevermind

I have no idea. What's the context?

edit edit: Ovewa Misure is probably a name, and I got some random brazilian facebook page when I did a search for "nem". I put it into freetranslation for Brazilian Portuguese and got "Ovewa Misure encor but not geon cot." Spanish(Latin American) gave "Ovewa Misure cover with leather of cot nem geon. " Sounds like foreign spam for some kind of furniture lol Something from Ovewa Misure with leather from "cot" not" geon", whatever that means.

The phrase, said by a girl, (I'm a guy ) was over an IM. So it's possible it's mispelled, but anywho the context was that of: She was going to sleep for the night, and that was one of the last things she said to me of the night.

ah, I see. That's the first insight I've had yet lol. Thanks!

Anyone else care to take a stab as the full meaning, cuz if it is shorthand of some kind, it won't be translated correctly in a machine translator.

It is lol. But I didn't pick the name because the book is called that, I like the character. Why?

I by no means know french, but going phonetically, I'm betting "Ovewa Misure" is supposed to be au revoir monsieur

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I kept pronouncing this in my head and I keep thinking of very poorly typed french (ie she was trying to type how she thinks they are spelled). first two words would be "goodbye mister" And I'm guessing the last part is related to "until we meet again" or something.

I know next to no french though so maybe someone else could say if that makes sense.

[edit] ya what zeb said is what I was thinking, beaten!

also, encore in french means "again" which I'm going to say is what she meant, but looking up on google "until we meet again" doesn't fit, but I would assume that it's the same meaning she was trying to convey.

Yeah I was just gonna post that too lol, beaten twice! Cot is a type of bed so it's either a horrible spelling of something else, or she's saying something along the lines of "Goodbye again mister I'm going to bed"

Thanks everyone! I'll check again later to see if someone else has another idea, but I think these seem like something she might have said.

Being french myself I can't make heads or tails out of that sentence.

It does sound creole though as Guartz said. Is the girl haitian?

nem means "not even" in Portuguese (pronounced neng, but not really since the ng is a nasal diphthong that doesn't exist in most languages), but obviously this isn't Portuguese (or latin, or vulgar latin, or anything like that). Ksandra's more than likely correct that it's ignorant phonetic french.

Looks like French initially, and the last few words sound like Haitian creole to me. But it's not. It has atrocious spelling, whichever language it is.

Given the translations, she probably went to bed already.
