New to private trackers

So, I just got an Private tracker invite. So i DLed a bunch of torrents for stuff i already had sitting around on my HD tagged it and now seeding w/o DLing from them in effort to have a good ratio going in.

The problem: I don't seed at all on the private tracker. The public trackers will hit my 500 kb/s upload limit easy. when i turn those off and leave the privates for hours nothing gets uploaded. Most of the torrents i have seeded are 2S:1L and i will get some action every now and then. Am i just being beaten out by seed boxes and faster seeds or do i need to do something differently?

Depends on your tracker. Blackcats, for example, prevents all this shit by implementing a seeding point system. That means that even if you aren't ul squat you eventually get points because your torrent has been active. Idk, maybe your tracker has the same system unless it's a really shittyone.

Chances are there's just no one downloading anything. With a lot of sites having strict ratio requirements, people are more selective in what they download. It's how those trackers keep everything well-seeded. Those leechers you see on the torrents are likely just partial seeders.

Best advice I can give you is to hop on new torrents as soon as you can so you can collect upload while they're still popular. Keep uploading the stuff you have, people will download from you eventually. Don't be fooled by your public torrent speeds, it's rare to be constantly maxed out on upload until you're able to seed dozens of torrents.

Some trackers, like What.cd, it can be hard because they will prioritze the faster seeders. The #1 to get upload ratio is to upload something new.
