Error Code 72

I'm getting this:

Error Code: 72 (PatchFileNotFound):

Could not find the patch file : 'C:\Program Files (x86)\NCsoft\Aion\Aion_Main_2.0.0.0To2.0.0.2.ncpat ch'.

Anyone else getting this? I can't even hit cancel and go through.

If history is repeating itself, Aion's patcher loves to fuck up. All I can really suggest is to look in your directory for the *to* file and delete that, and maybe the version.ini. Try exiting the launcher and reloading that, too. Sometimes I literally had to reboot my system just for a patch to take, too.

Thanks, I'll try rebooting first. I was getting that error code before the update, but all I had to do was hit cancel and it went through. Actually started happening after they did that "trickle download". Thanks for the info though.


Edit: Ok, I rebooted and its still doing the same thing. Now since I'm literally computer stupid. If I delete that one file or even both, what could it do to the game? Not really sure what those files are used for.

Nothing is working, since I have no idea how to fix these things, only thing I can think of is to uninstall and re-install it. I deleted the "to" file and tried to update again and still getting the same Error. I just might wait for my husbands to finish and take his files instead if he doesn't get the Error. But yeah, if anyone has any ideas, please let us know.

Deja'vu all over again. Anybody know if there's a torrent out there to manually get the patch like last time? That's what worked for me.

thank you for showing this, I actually deleted aion and was installing from scratch when i read this. ^^ yay for restore!

You just put those files in the Aion folder?

It'll probably still have to do an authentication check with the Launcher, but assuming it has everything, file swaps should work.

i'm just gonna leave the download running until it installs successfully, since mine keeps restarting itself apparently

If you still have the problem, delete the .dat files in your NcSoft/Aion folder and start the update again, you'll have an 884Mo file to download. It worked for everyone with the EU client.
