Have patch files, but FFXIVBoot.exe continues to try and re-download them help!

    Hello everyone,

This has been driving me nuts for a while now. I have all the patch files I downloaded from uTorrent. I put them in the correct directory. When I launch the boot.exe instead of installing the patch files, it tries to re-download them. How do I get the boot.exe to recognize that I all ready have the patches and to install them?

    Any help is appreciated!!!

    Thanks

PS: This is ever the more mind-boggling since I did the exact same thing for the previous folder patches (b...etc.), and it worked flawlessly...I'm stumped.

Well I have all the patch files in the correct directory, but the goddamn thing keeps trying to re-download them instead of installing...how did you get it to recognize you have the files and actually install them rather than try to re-download them ad infinitum.

Reinstalling the beta launcher fixed it for me.

Can you care to go more in-depth? I've done the uninstall, reinstall thing and it still does it. How can you only reinstall the launcher without everything else? Thanks.

Edit: Oh well. Square-Enix once again shows their ineptness (or could be me...but I'll lean on it being SE ) How hard can it be to identify that the files are there good lord lol. Adios.

Uninstall the beta launcher, and manually delete everything inside C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\

Just delete the whole "FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version" folder in that path

Then reinstall launcher, run it and let it try to update for about 2 minutes so it populates the "bca2a8ae" folder, shut down launcher then go into the "bca2a8ae", delete everything inside, and copy/paste D2010.08.27.2001.patch and H2010.08.04.2000.patch into it. Make sure it's the actual files from the torrent, the updater automatically gives the file a full size which will fool you into thinking it's complete, it's not complete if it keeps trying to download it, don't use files generated by the launcher.

Then run the beta launcher again, let it update for about 2 min, it will populate the "d96437e6" folder, close beta launcher, delete everything in "d96437e6" and then copy/paste D2010.08.31.2000.patch, H2010.08.30.2000.patch, D2010.09.01.2000.patch, D2010.09.01.2001.patch, D2010.09.02.2000.patch, D2010.09.02.2001.patch into d96437e6, run the updater again, it will load for a while and act like it's downloading stuff, after a few minutes it will pop another screen where it installs all the patches.

And that's it, it worked for me.
