Fuck yeah, I may get one if budget permits it.
I was gonna rage if the cut was on the 980x when I just bought it, lol..
mother
fuck
Fuck sake, I just bought my 930 from MicroCenter for $199 (well in July) now this shit drops to a much more reasonable price, and at MC it will probably be around the same price the 930 is now. I am a sad panda
FUCK YES thank you me for waiting on getting a 930. I was gong to wait till new sockets to upgrade my c2d e8500, but man that 950 may change my mind without too much effort.
Guess I'll be including my cpu in my watercooling loop when I do it anyway hahaha.
Yeah, I'm happy to find out about this as well. Guess I'll put off that build I was going to do.
Thanks Poct for the heads up~
Still begs the question for me.
Wait for new sockets (probably 3rd quarter 2011, meh) or grab the 950. Currently using an e8500 c2d @4.01, have big air atm and will be going to water probably... so we are looking at 4.0-4.5 possibly.
Man this topic came just in time. I was going to buy the 930 from microcenter on saturday.
Does Microcenter have a price drop guarantee at all? I was planning to go tomorrow to pick up an 930.... I can live without the 950 but if the price is gonna drop on the 930 I'de like to be able to get a refund for it. I can't exactly go whenever I please since it's so far away... this sucks D:
Sooo... is the 930 just going to be phased out, or is it going to receive a price drop as well?
If the 950's core revision is changing along with this price cut, it'll be worth considering. If it's the same ones that have been sitting on shelves for months cuz no one wants to spend an extra 300 bux for a multiplier bump, fuck it and get the 930.
Was waiting on getting a 930, and I'm glad I did.
durrr..my 2 months old 930 isn't happy at all
I bet Intel was waiting for XIV's beta to be well underway so they could make the most $$ off of people hastily upgrading & buying new PCs to play it. Well played Intel, well played.
Always wait till oct to build new PCs. Intel releases new hardware, etc btwn june and sept.
Any idea what the new price for the 930's will be? I was gonna grab a 930 for my ffxiv rig on Wednesday, should I stick with a 930 vs. a 950 if I just plan on gaming with the PC, mainly FFXIV and Star wars in the future? I did plan on overclocking some in the future once I became more knowledgeable, thanks
