Checked the MB memory list these are both compatible with it, others with more experience may suggest something else, I went with Corsair and my processor/memory should be coming in the mail tomorrow so I can finally put it together! One is OCZ and the other is G. Skill

I'm going to just post my own build I'm trying to do within the next couple weeks. I am trying to keep my budget under $900 - 1000 CAD, and plan to re-use (hopefully) my current cooling system, power supply, 2 HHD's (300 GB each) and case. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated .

I am still comfortably able to spend an extra $200 or so, but I'm not sure where to make those upgrades and if they are at all necessary. Also if I should look into purchasing a new cooling system and possibly PSU. I definitely don't need extra HDD space so I'd rather not spend any money there.

why? its not like every build is the same, each person has their on personal taste. Also add that deals change a lot on parts, and people who no a lot more can help with anything that might change because you are going after the deals.

I mean 90% of the time the CPU does not change, but MOBO/ram/GPU(CF/SLI add a lot to think about) and cooling systems vary a lot depending. Tho most of the time you get questions that are very close to each other, a small change in a build can throw everything off. PCs are delicate

Looking at this card now. After changing the card, I won't be able to make any huge CPU+MOBO upgrades. However I figure I'll spend the rest of my budget on a PSU and another large fan.

Newegg has quite a few 5850s cheaper than that. 5850s

They also have a few 5870s for $354, $359, $369, $389 and upward. Not to mention buying motherboard, cpu, ram, and video card in various combos to save money. For example, this 5870 combo would save you the extra money you spent going from 5850 to 5870. You could also save $100 on going AMD on the processor. MB & CPU Combo
