We are:

It all started with FFXIV Alpha / Beta invites.. A fellow tester know as Alan had made a thread about his Vent channel and how he was opening it up to the other beta testers to talk to one another and link up with players on their same server . One by one the officers of this LS joined the Vent channel and became what seemed to be instant friends.. Even when the test windows had concluded and the rest of the testers signed off ... All of them was still there talking about the test forums, opinions of the latest test / update , or the late night drinking binges with Tinychat and/or Transformice. Around B2 Alan's vent subscription was ended and Coombah picked up a new channel so that we could keep the Dread nuggets together. After many talks we decided to go into retail as a company/linkshell . Soon after the regulars of the vent channel started brain storming on a name when Coombah started looking into various airship names when he found....

Dreadnoughts are a type of battleship that were popular in the first half of the 20the century before the advent of the aircraft carrier made them obsolete. They were gigantic heavily armored ships noted for an "all-big-gun" design that allowed for great firing range while being well protected. The term "Dreadnought" comes from the first major ship of this design, the 1906 HMS Dreadnought. The word "Dreadnought" means "FEAR NOTHING". Dreadnought was also known as a warship from Final Fantasy II. The Dreadnought was the ultimate airship with the ability to crush entire towns from the air. From this information our linkshell found a name.Now with a name for the place we call home, the website site started to become a reality with help from Seraphite funding it, as well as tasking Silver with the assistance of Torque and Waraji to make a draft of what the website would look like, while having to deal with the constant feedback of other members to get the site just right. Waraji was the creator of our LS banner, but as for the airship that is found in said banner... The majority of the linkshell voted for the Alexander airship from FF XII due to the fact that unfortunately there wasn't any quality pictures of FFII'S Dreadnought.

We are looking for members who are active, team players who are reaching toward the goal of end game content and being the predominate linkshell on our server.

Recruitment

At the moment we are accepting all willing applicants for the Beta phases of the Linkshell on an admin-discretion and trial basis. Once retail starts we will be reviewing all applicants and look at who really tried to be part of the community and put effort into getting to know people. (since this is beta we really cannot base our opinions on skill to an extent.)

Post in the recruitment section and tell us a little bit about yourself (we'll have a template set up that you can follow). One of the admins will approve you shortly and you will be able to read and post in the members-only forum.

Rules

Linkshell Rules

By applying and joining Deadnought LS you agree to the following rules.
If at anytime these rules are broken the appropriate action will be taken
on your member status.

All rules are subject to amendment. If changed, advance warning will be provided on the Forums and the Linkshell message.


Dreadnought = #1 Priority
Dreadnought is your only Endgame Linkshell. You may have as many social shells as you like, but multiple Endgame and/or DKP based linkshells will not be tolerated. Dreadnought's advancement is the mindset that all members should have. If you are found to have another Endgame Linkshell other than Dreadnought, your membership will be terminated.


You will not embarrass the shell.
Intra- and Inter- Linkshell Drama will NOT be tolerated. If we are at an event that involves competition between Linkshells, there will be no trash talking from our members, even if our rivals are not as considerate. If you are at one of these events, you really have no business talking in /say. If a statement from our Linkshell needs to be issued, an officer will do it. The same goes for popular forum sites (ZAM, KillingIfrit, BlueGartr, etc). If you are found posting flame and/or troll comments towards rival Linkshells your membership will be put under review and may result in your termination from the Linkshell.


What happens in Dreadnought, stays in Dreadnought.
Linkshell secrets must stay within the Linkshell. If a leak (ToD or otherwise) to a rival shell is traced back to you, your membership will be terminated.


You will not steal from Dreadnought.
Self explanatory. If you are found to be selling Linkshell property or money for your own personal gain, you will be removed from the Linkshell. If you try to jump server or join a new Linkshell after this offense, we will post warnings about you on every FFXIV fansite we can find, and we will make sure that you are forever shunned by the FFXIV playerbase. No amount of gil or items is too small and zero exceptions will be made.


Ventrilo is required.
You will have Ventrilo installed on your computer and you will make a visible effort to communicate with other members with it. If you really can not afford a mic you are still expected to install the program and get on often to listen to us/talk via Vent chat. Members that do not make active use of Ventrilo may have their membership reviewed or terminated. Some members may find this policy to be unfair; however, we believe that voicechat is the best way for members to get to know one another and form stronger bonds. Members that do not make use of a mic in Vent will not be considered for promotion to the Officer or Designated Crafter positions.


Be an active community member.
Going hand in hand with the Ventrilo rule, all Dreadnought members are encouraged to be active in the community. Get our name out, and show everyone you meet that you're a very proud part of the greatest Linkshell out there! Try to post on our forums when you can, and socialize with fellow members as often as possible.


The following rule applies to Miqo'te members only:

No RP rolling R's.
