Though the Parent's Television Council needs to head to the nearest dictionary and learn anew what the actual meaning of "pedophilia" is, and though the youngest person in this photo shoot is actually 24 years old making the whole thing a moot issue in my eyes, this got me thinking: how do people feel about hitting up high school students? Hence the poll, divided into age groups so the college freshmen with high school girlfriends don't skew the results.

The producers of "Glee" are taking some serious heat over a sexually charged photo shoot involving three cast members -- with one powerful parents group saying the pictorial "borders on pedophilia."

The Parents Television Council has released a statement thrashing producers for allowing Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele to participate in a "hyper-sexualized" photo shoot for the November issue of GQ -- despite the fact that both actresses are 24 years old and Corey is 28.

The PTC declares, “It is disturbing that GQ http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adT...lass_10x10.gif, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on ‘Glee’ in this way. It borders on pedophilia."

The statement continues, "By authorizing this kind of near-pornographic display, the creators of the program have established their intentions on the show’s direction. And it isn’t good for families."

I'd argue that the lower end of that is murky, since pedophilia literally means fucking pre-pubescent children, but yeah. even fucking a 12-year-old girl who just got her first period (while I don't support it) is not technically pedophilia.

When some people use the word pedophilia to refer to having sex with people below the age of 18, what they are actually referring to is statutory rape.

edit: some people use the word pedophilia to mean raping anything below the age of 18
