Aion question

I played Aion when it first came out, got to level 22, and realized I was playing WoW again.

I've heard some feedback from LSmates lately, about botched server merges, and stuff, but overall, how is the game faring now?

I'm looking for something to play when im bored of FFXIV and right now I'm playing EQ2 but I still have a lot of friends on Aion and was wondering as a whole is this game worth going back to? Especially with the new WoW expansion coming out next month?

I will say however that the game is nothing like it was a year ago, they've made a lot of improvements since then; and with 2.1 a week away its getting even better o.<

What Pooky said, it really feels much better than it did when the game was first released. Improved drop rates, more instances at all levels, added content for the 50+ people, etc etc. Definitely worth checking back either now or in the future, but the game has seriously improved in many ways :D

(Ps. I never liked/played WoW, so I can't really comment on how similar/different it is compared to the other)

Well thats good to know they made it more entertaining. It did have a lot of things I liked about it I was just hearing some horror stories and wondering if they were mostly fixed now.

Definitely less of a grind now and quests give way more XP and the rewards/kinah are upped

Yeah I've been thinking about coming back on a limited basis, due to real life time restrictions, and 2.1 may be the boost to get me to jump back in. I hated that over the course of some 300+ FT runs I saw all of 4 maybe 5 golds and some 150+ SR runs and seeing 2 weapons and damn near as much gold gear. Then they gimped trash drops on things like Fenrir/Coin mobs so you make next to nothing. I may wait till 2.1 is out for a bit to get a better verdict of things like drop rates before I jump back into. But I do agree there is a lot more content to work with now than there was several months ago. My wife still plays and has to pick and choose which instances she does rather than having only 1 or 2 to choose from and all of them sucking.

Yeah, the game is a lot more solid now than it was at launch. They've done really nice things in all the patches so far. Servers are a little imbalanced now, some more than others, but I'm not even sure how they can fix that.. They've been working on that though, and it has been getting better.
