Help/suggestions to recover an account. The jungle of SE membership D:

I want to clarify first that i'm not gonna talk about MY account, that is safe and sure and i never sold it or gave out informations to anyone.
I'm posting for a friend, and this is no excuse :/
I started helping him to recover this account and i wasn't able to find a viable solution to the problem, now i'm curious to see if someone can help us. Sorry for the probably bad english that is coming D:

My friend sold his account to a friend for few money (a very good account trust me, worth waaay more money) with the pact that he could login whenever he want. Basically they where sharing the account with his friend paying for it.
Some circustamces came up and now the seller wants his account back. We are not trying to scam the buyer, but these cirmustances are too personal and long to explain.

So my friend had the idea to recall the account but he noticed that the buyer changed name and surname (plus adress and cc informations) on square enix account O_o and even linked his ff14 copy to my friend account.
We now are afraid that recalling it will cause permaban. Is this possible?
I tried to see if we could change back account information but we can't and we can't understand how the seller was able to change those informations. Registering a new SE account i heard is not possibile since if you unlink a POL id from a SE account this POL id cannot be linked again and is "lost".

No troll plz and no "omgwtf selling accounts is WRONG". I'm sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum, mods can move it wherever they think is right.

If the friend sold the account at a discount to another friend, then he should be on good enough terms with that person to call and talk to him in person and explain the situation. Or email at the very least. If the person the account was sold to isn't using it anymore anyway, then your friend should be able to buy it back. A recall would only get the account (and likely the linked 14 account) permabanned.

As i said in the OP post, we cannot contact the person, and never will be able to. The cause is personal and i don't think is of any interest for this community.
I still don't understand how he was able to change name/surname informations on the SE account. It totally eludes me

It was the perfect plan, sell the account, kill the buyer, then recover the account using SEs loopholes. It's win win right? WRONG! What you didn't count on was that the buyer was tipped off about your plan, and changed his name and moved to Canada where he's now living off of goat cheese and moderately expensive wine. You could go to Canada and finish the job, but you got a DUI a few years back and you can't get past border control. So now you're trying to find a lazy alternative to hopping a fence into Canada and getting your account back LIKE A MAN...

If you've sold something, it is no longer yours. Furthermore the new owner has no obligation to return the account to you if they do not choose to. There is nothing you can do.

So your 'friend' sold his account to another friend(who you apparently can't contact, some friend right?) and now you want the account back. Honestly A) you're a moron for selling your account at all since unless you are 100% done with the game, and B) after selling it you act like you're entitled to it. If the guy linked it and changed the name and added his FF14 account to it, good luck getting it back. You can possibly get it recalled but it'll just end in it getting permabanned. You better, oh excuse me, your 'friend' better just accept that fact if he can't get in contact with the current owner and just start from scratch.

Selling the account means giving up the rights to it regardless of whatever gentleman's agreement you think may have been in place. Recalling sold accounts is for dickfucks. Keep this crap out of here.
