i have an opportunity to buy a brand new gtx460 768mb version for just $115 after shipping without having to use a mail in rebate. Think its worth it at that price?

First, is it an 'SE' variant? I notice that there are several 1GB cards hitting the market that are a fair bit cheaper, but are also clocked a bit slower than normal. Newegg doesn't seem to list a 768MB variant for them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

If it's a normal one, then sure, it's a fairly good deal on the hardware. The real question would be whether you actually want a 768MB GTX 460, which can't really be answered with the information given.

har har its an ocd variant. as for whether i want it or not, im a total price/perfomance guy, so it seemed right up my ally.

Well, again, it's a great price for the hardware, and in turn the performance for the money is great as nothing else currently in the $115 range really competes with it.

I simply mean that it's impossible for me to give an opinion about it for you with the information given. Could be it'd be a marginal upgrade, not worth $115. Could be you want it to drive a 30" 2560x1600 panel, and it won't really cut it for that. There are plenty of ways that it can be "not worth it" and still be a good deal.
