    Can't detect DirectX

    Soooooo.. I installed the DirectX that came with the Collector Edition and now when I open the game it says it can't detect it. Should I just re-install or what?

    Are you playing Full-screen? If so, are you alt tabbing or popping CTRL+ALT+DEL?

    If you're playing Windowed... no idea

    I am getting something similar. Whenever I try opening MSI afterburner, while playing FFXIV windowed, it gives me the unable to find directx and I crash. So i just stopped opening that program mid game.

    Yea, soon as I CTR+ESCAPE in full mode to do something else the message pops up...

    FFXIV can not be changed out of focus in full screen mode. If you try it crashes

    Getting this more today, just randomaly says unalbe to locate directx and crash. 4 times in last 30 minutes, any ideas? Up until today it was running quite perfect...

    I'm having some similiar issue regarding the DirectX stuff.

    After starting FFXIV the client will crash after 5-10mins has passed. It doesn't matter where I am. It happens in-game and during the log-in screen.
    After that I can restart the client and it never happens again.. until I reboot the PC and restart FFXIV.. really strange.

    I've already tried to de- and reinstall the graphic drivers and also DirectX.. nothing really helps. I'm afraid I will have to clean up/wipe my PC But ghosh.. I freaking hate that.

    Anyone else got a solution to this, maybe? I'm playing with a PS2 Controller on PC... but that isn't causing the crash I think... I guess I will play with these settings a bit.
