I've never actually studied socialism outside of wikipedia articles, but the socialists on campus are jackasses.

They give out these pamphlets with the most shrill speech possible. Which wouldn't really be a problem if it weren't so hard deciphering their slang in order to figure out what they're trying to say.

In my freshman year of college someone always left some Communist newsletter in the bathroom stalls that always talked about Amerikka and the United $tates as an oppressive dictatorial government. They actually printed the words like that.

And then they always frame their analysis of situations in the terms of hidden intentions of some capitalist overclass when they clearly have no way of knowing what they actually intend rather than focusing on facts or structural reasons for why things happen.

Being a socialist sucks because then I always have to explain what socialism is and why it's not Communism. Also no one takes your arguments seriously because you're apparently supporting a dead ideal.
