Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an important update that includes previously released security, performance, and stability updates for Windows 7. SP1 also includes new improvements to features and services in Windows 7, such as improved reliability when connecting to HDMI audio devices, printing using the XPS Viewer, and restoring previous folders in Windows Explorer after restarting.

Installing SP1 helps keep Windows 7 up to date. For information on how to get SP1, see Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
Overall I'm hearing a lot of improvements in boot time. More optimization to service bloat. Readyboost enhancements/tweaks (for those using older/weaker machines), and so on.

Also 100% confirmed "Daz's Loader 1.9.7" is not affected in anyway by the SP. If you get any random errors, they have nothing to do with WAT or any other type of security implementation dealing with Daz's loader.

Guess I'm fixing to take the plunge and install SP1 on Daz 1.9.5 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I'll post back and let ya know if it worked OK (it should, but ya never know with these things). Thanks for the heads-up Pikarya! ^^

Installed it, didn't really notice anything different (original windows 7 was running rock solid anyway)

Daz loader 1.9.5 updated with SP1 seems to work fine after a couple hours up and playing some games/using programs to test stability - knock on wood.

Just in case some people aren't getting this to appear on their list. You'll need to have installed KB976902 (which helps with future windows updates) in order to have the SP1 appear on the list for download.

All i know is i have a fresh install on my computer because after downloading and installing SP1 my computer would crash anytime i hover over an icon or try to open a program. I even tried rolling back afterwards and the problem wouldn't go away. Happened to me and a friend of mines computer, both running win7 64 pro. On our 32bit pro boxes and 64bit ult boxes the problem wasn't there.

Alright jerkbutts, listen up because I come bearing DIRE NEWS OOOooooOOOooo-ok, enough of that.

Anyways I restarted g/f's computer this morning after installing SP1 last night, SP1 goes to install, aaaaaaaand during install it shits its pants. Error C000009A, some sort of registry issue.

After some digging I found this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...f-ad8ff9344308

Apparently, if you have any language packs(the optional ones available through Windows Update that take a month and a half to d/l and install), SP1 will completely shit bricks. If you want to install it, you need to go in to your previously installed updates, and uninstall all of your language packs. I believe(don't quote me, I'm known to blow machines up regularly) that you can install the language packs after SP1 has been fully installed and be fine. If they're installed prior to SP1 though, well, welcome to fuckytown.

Really, really unsure how something that big got past the testing phase...if there was one...but from what I've seen in that thread, the main course of action is to see if you can do a system restore in Repair Mode, if you can do that successfully then you can uninstall the language packs, restart, and finish installing SP1 from there. If the system restore fails, welp, then things get more complicated than my level of expertise covers.

I installed this yesterday, but I honestly have no idea what any of it did. Seems the same for me. Have never had any issues running x64 yet

Jesus christ I had the worst time installing last night, lol. Nothing to do with my licenses, but if you've ever used Driver Sweeper for ATI video drivers, be aware that you're going to have to jump through some motherfucking hoops.

I guess it's good that I don't install service Packs the moment they come out, then. Hopefully this will be fixed in a few days. Thanks for the head's up.

Was in the midst of downloading it when I saw this thread, guess it's a good thing I didn't go through with it. Don't want to chance having an unstable computer just because I have the japanese language pack installed.
