    Clerics are amazing

I am really enjoying this calling, and the multi-role aspect really lets you enjoy things. So far these are my roles:

Healing - Purifier has 21 points in it to obtain most cooldowns, rest of my points are going into Warden for the HoT's and such. I have nearly everything I need in purifier and Wardens get many nice nice spells. Sent has 0 points in it for now, but gives me an instant cast low cd heal.

Tanking/melee dps - Justicar is wonderful. I feel very similar to a prot paladin playing it. And I love how there's no need to be wearing tank weapons/accessories. Just all caster gear and it morphs perfectly into tank stats. I didn't seriously try it out until level 30 in Foul Cascade but I had absolutely no issues staying alive and keeping threat with the only healing in the group being a bard. And then I just equip a 2h weapon and I can do decent damage with some offheals.

DPS - Cabalist are aoe kings. Built up some stacks and obliterate for massive damage to multiple targets. Can easily spam aoe, main attack is a chain lightning (only does less damage if there are multiple targets, works as a single target nuke with only one thing up). Can equip different sigils for different effects. One snares when you use a finisher, one restores mana, one heals you...good stuff.

Who else is loving this calling?

I'm enjoying playing with my cleric. Only 23 so far.

It's too bad justicar gets shafted with shields, which pretty much makes 2h the only real option with the huge loss in SP going with a shield. On the bright side, it opens up 11 points to spend in other souls since you won't be needing to spec shield unless it changes.

I'm loving Cleric. I've tried out:

Cabalist - Played for a while in beta while leveling up, until about Lv25. Dominates in Black Garden where the other team typically stacks up, but quest grinding ended up getting really slow since their single target dps is fairly low. I didn't have a lot of survivability, so I wasn't really able to aoe my quest mobs if I was just solo.

Shaman - Switched to this from Cabalist in beta, quest grinding was dramatically faster. In head start, this is the soul I started with but was underwhelmed with at lower levels, so I did Inquisitor for the lower levels. I recently changed back to this though at around Lv25 again. Much higher single-target dps, kills things really fast and actualy ends up having decent survivability. Have a couple of aoe skills too, which come in handy. I played this soul with druid and sentinel, putting points into druid. I have a lot of fun with this soul!

Inquisitor - Played in the lower levels in head start. Has nice single target dps, and still performed pretty well in warfronts by just tab dotting. Put points into the skill that converts some of your damage from Vex into health, so I was just tabbing around casting Vex on everyone and it made it pretty hard for them to kill me. Was fun, I still have a role with this soul on it so I'll probably try it out more later.

Sentinel - My healing spec for all of beta and head start. Pretty satisfied with this soul as a healer, I have a few hots and a couple aoe's, just seems like a good all-purpose healer.

I'm considering trying out Purifier for a heal set-up, I want to see what the other ones are like. I don't really have any interest in tanking.

I think if you wanted to make a real melee dps build as Justicar you'd only go as far to get the doctrine finisher and +3 targets to Even Justice, then probably go up the shaman tree, ending up with more in shaman than Justicar. It'd be more for the bonus heals on damage and offhealing than for dps. But I decided I'd just 2h with my tank build for the moment.

Cabalist is pretty terrible solo, but yes, amazing in warfronts. Next extra points go to making Vex a heal, and been making Puri my 3rd for the shield, so with some self-healing and the shield (and 31 pt sigil) I should be able to do a bit better with survival.

Purifier is basically a disc priest. You get a PW:S to put on someone (though it's a 30s cooldown so only one person) but you get these amazing cooldowns:
    1) Caregiver's blessing: Next (3+n) heals put an absorb shield on the target. 3 points can make it up to 6 shields.
    2) Flashover: 100% chance to crit next heal.
    3) Latent Blaze: If target falls below 30% health, instantly heals them for a large amount. 45s cooldown, 2min proc-cooldown, 5min duration, you could actually get this around to nearly everyone.

There might be another, but not on to check. Also your slow casting 3s heal you get creates a shield for 60% of your SP, which is a fairly good amount. If/when tanks start getting more endurance this'll be awesome for spamming.

But the rest of my points are going to Warden. Who get rejuv/regrowth/wild growth and I'll eventually get lifebloom and such too. It's excellent.

QFT, it's really necessary if they want me to play a healer once things get serious.

I find healing extremely easy, unless there's 3-4 elites pounding on the tank in the instance. For healing role, I go Sentinel/Purifier/Warden, some of the spells are redundant but the extras are so fucking convenient. Spam heals, throw protects, HoTs too, over all awesomeness.

Currently 34 and i am Sent/Warden/Purifier, will end up 45/16/5 when i am done as this allows for a nice AoE that doesn't cost shit loads of mana to proc protector of the herd and the extra wisom which is always nice.

Inquisitor also has some pretty fucking amazing AoE especially when combined with Cabalist. I forgot the exact name of the move but Soul Drain or something hits 4 targets and can bounce between them, combine that with a 3 charge obliterate and you can just laugh as mobs around you die. Not to mention the 31 point 7 hit target AoE spell on the ground ticking for 200 each time.

Warden at the moment seems a little too mana inefficient for me, i can go through entire dungeons of my same level on sent and have to drink once, feels like i have to drink a lot more as a warden for some reason. I may be too over cautious with my stacks of dots i keep up on the tank however. It is absolutely amazing for PVP however, takes about 3-4 guardians to take me down if i have full HoTs running combining it with Healing Breathe and the shield.

15 cleric atm, speced cabalist/inquisitor/shaman for pvp, and I haven't died in the last 6 warfronts while I got most dps and most kills in 5 of them. Spam Vex on every enemy you see -> build stacks -> detonate on low hp noob = win. With shaman's ice shield absorbing 300 damage, a snare to stop the fang carriers in their tracks and nobody targeting me since I just stay back, this is the most fun I've ever had playing a cleric in any MMO.

Though as said from others, I'd like to find a good group to be a dedicated healer to, since most of the people I ran warfronts with were total retards that only wanted to KILL KILL KILL and not actually win the thing, I expect a lot of raiders to be some WoW kiddies, and I really can't tolerate that for more than a few minutes.

I tried this initially, but I found that you don't need to spec 3 healing souls. 2 is more than enough and adding either inq or cab for some small scale dps is better and also not so mind numbly boring when running dungeon. At least this is my experience up to lvl 25.

I go oom if I'm spending my free cast time nuking for the most part. At least when actual healing is needed. I keep getting into groups without support classes though so I'm the only healing.

Granted, I've only ran iron tombs, deepstrike and darkening, but I've been the only healer in all those groups at one time or another and I've never had any issues. If an off-healer (esp bard) goes, I'm really only ever needed for the boss pulls for burst heals and I spend most rest of the time "dps'ing".

I've also main healed for these groups using justicar, which is tons more fun imo, but more risky. I've had the most fun tanking/healing on justicar with an off-healer support class that mostly dps. I just find it much more engaging.

Well, it does greatly depend on your groups level. When you first get to a dungeon it is LOADS more difficult than if everyone is a couple levels higher. There's little to no point in a full healer if the tank is a few levels above the dungeon. But if you're say a 32-34 group in King's Breach...you need a full healer.

Rolled a cleric the other day to have a place to dump my cloth and I guess just have something else to play if I'm not in the mood for my Warrior. What've people been using for PvEing? I'm currently set Purifier/Warden/Sentinel with 11/3/0 spent so far. Probably more on the defensive side of builds for now, but I'll probably buy another role soon.

I use shaman/justicar with druid for the pet/shield for questing and leveling. Built like this at the moment: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=00nra.VxzxkM.xuMo.M Never have mana issues and I don't die unless I wind up aggroing a ton of mobs. Having a grand old time running around bashing skulls in with my giant hammer.

I actually prefer using my tank build (justicar, purifier, shaman) for solo. I tried to use druid (and probably shaman and justifcar) but even though it killed things faster, it didn't seem to survive as well as the tank build. I find that when you solo, it's more important to be able to survive rather than how fast you kill things, given how often you can get ganged up by mobs. The tank build has never had problems taking on 3-5 near even level mobs. I think what does it is the shield + shield abilities, and the ability to alternate between two shields (the shaman's and the purifiers's), plus the justicars instant cast heals.

I've been using Warden instead of Purifier as my Justicar's 3rd tree because the spammable ranged move is more important than another shield for most things.

I'm at 40 right now, I change my builds around often to see if I like different skills and to see what works, but this is what I've been using lately.

Inquisitor/Cabalist/Sentinel for my solo and DPS build from 30ish on.
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=10odj.VxV.xxoixtzq.M

Justicar/Shaman/Purifier for tanking or anything that might be harder to solo
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=00...uMs0eeoRR.hedz

And.. I have a Sentinel 31/Purifier 21/Warden 0 setup for group healing, but I run everything with a mage that loves Chloromancer so I don't have to use it much.

I've so far rolled a Rouge to 20, a Mage to 20, and just recently picked up Cleric. This job is just way more fun solo. I couldn't take on like more than 2 things on either Rouge or Mage, but I took on 5 mobs at once and soloing rifts and strongholds at 15 with no problem and wasn't even close to dying. I'm currently rolling a Justicar for soloing and I have Sentinel as my full healer. Both work nicely. I've never played a healer type before so this will definitely be a change but seems pretty fun. I think I could easily tank on Justicar and do a good bit of healing.

Idk about mage but did you try out bard/ranger/whatever for solo PVE?
Pretty darn hard to kill. Transfer hate to pet and keep it healed with rejuvenate/healing motif/cadence/coda of rejuvenation.
Slow kills but not much can kill you assuming you fight monsters of your level.

Doesn't really work well on higher levels but at 20 it should be decent.
