    Missing Hard Disk Space

So I have about 25GB of missing hard disk space according to the Folder Size app and my math.

I have a Lenovo T500 and in my googling have discovered that rescue and recovery backups seem to be the issue. I have deleted the program and all my backups and still have 25GB of missing space.

    What gives?

use a Disk explorer program to find out what's taking up space, I use Tune Up utilities 2010 for mine and other things

Holy fuck that worked. I have been trying for like a year to figure this out. Thanks.

So my question is where were all the backups? I deleted the Lenovo R&R program and deleted all the windows backups. I scanned with all kinds of file tree programs and none found it. This program didn't disclose it either, but it sure as fuck deleted them.

not sure, T.U gives a complete break down of what is where and how much space it takes up, if you want I can "give" you a copy

I just use freeware SequoiaView for that, and it gives a nice color-coded, grouped by directory visual image of what is using the space.

I've used WinDirStat which also free. Or Disk Inventory X on the Mac side of things.
