So the highlighted Box should read cover, but for some reason it reads "no". As you can see the equation is correct, any suggestions on whats wrong here?



its reading all numbers correctly and at one point i got rid of the math in the equation and just used a greater number and it still didnt work. plx help

Could the numbers accidentally be formatted as text? Put a 1 in some random blank column, copy it, select the columns L-N, paste special > multiply and see if that does anything.

not sure why it isn't working in your case, as i just tried the same equation and it worked like you wanted it to

The only problem I can think of is happening when columns L and M pull their info from C using =Left, etc.

Same, just by entering the four boxes in question L113-0113, using the formula you put in, it came up as "Cover" when I ran it. Not sure what's causing yours to show no.

Yeah make sure they're coming across formatted as numbers and not strings.

using LEFT might make it a string, i'd surround the entire formula with VALUE() to get it to spit back into a number without having to the do copy>paste special trick.

What Cally said, plus, if there are formulas in columns L or N make sure they have the precision you expect, i.e. the cell may display 6 but the evaluated value is actually 5.87.
