    Laptop not reading dvds

    DEVICE TYPE: DVD/CD-ROM drives

    I had to do a system recovery and ever since then the disc drive hasn't been reading dvds. I did a search for drivers and it came back saying all drivers were up to date. It will read cds like Diablo II but not dvds such as Rift or SC2 or any movie.

    Laptop is HP, is there any advice anyone can gib?

    laser might be done for, i have the same issue. HP dv6000 , after a factory recovery, the drive worked intermittently, then not at all

    Does it work when it's plugged in to the wall, or not plugged in?
