There are two quests from The Golden Bazaar and Wineport. Can't remember the names of them though...

If people can post which hamlets have quests and which don't that would be great. Running is a chore. Quarrymill has none to offer but Hearing Confessions sends you there.

While Aleport has no quests to offer, Wineport does indeed have one:

    Quest: Moonstruck
    Client: I'nairoh (3,18 )
    Requires: DoW/DoM, Rank 20
    Reward: Pineapple Juice x12

Updated. Nothing at Hyrstmill so the only other places there could be quests are Silver Bazaar and Owl's Nest I think unless there are more quests that unlock after completing the other hamlet ones.

Did anyone notice the inaccessible "!" on the minimap near the Botanist's Guild in Gridania? It appears to be off the map :S

I was told it was a bug.

Also, is it just me or do these quests just seem to be SE's way of advertising for the upcoming Companies? Possibly prerequisites, but they don't really feel all that important enough.

    Lure of the Wildcat indeed.

I think the lore they reveal will be quite important to justify the birth and existence of the feature, and the egg-hunt seems to have the same archon theme as well. I also guess in the end these will be used as prerequisites for joining the companies too.

It all seems to be a foreshadowing for something to happen when the egg-hunt ends.

Also, my kingdom for a good wiki...

Yeah it'd be nice for someone to make a nice and complete wiki of the story but with the game in constant flux nobody is willing to do it right now. Even though they don't amount to much I really like dinky side quests in MMOs.

I adore side quests in all RPGs and the complete lack of them was my primary complaint about XIV from the get-go. It's still too bad that these didn't get the love and attention they should have had from the start as so there's no actual cut scenes whatsoever, just some lore in dialog form.

I second the desire for a decent wiki.

Also, there's a quest for each city that involves rescuing a handful of NPCs from some Garlean thugs/scouts/bandits. The NPCs happen to be engineers that are arriving to work on the finishing touches for the cities' airships. Let's hope.

I've always loved quests for the expansion of lore. One of my major complaints with 14 has been the complete lack of story and how it all felt very hollow. I actually am starting to feel like something is going on with the npcs now as opposed to just being frozen in time with not a care in the world.

Spoilers regarding the new quests from the offiziel forums, which I thought were interesting. Some speculation in there that should be taken with a grain of salt, as always:

    Spoiler: show
You learn that the companies are being reformed because the Garlean army has entered the Black Shroud. They have begun shooting down passenger ships around Ul'dah, and Garlean spies have been trying to infiltrate Limsa-lominsa. We're going to war, and the companies will lead the way.

Limsa-lominsa has the Maelstrom, and the admiral is trying to convince the pirates to join arms with them. Ul'dah is trying to form the Immortal Flames once again out of adventurers and brave warriors within Ul'dah, and the Padjal will be leading Gridania to war. I've a feeling Gridania will become the Windurst of FFXIV, as it seems they are lacking in supplies and manpower. They will be relying on the other nations heavily, much as Windurst did during the Crystal War in FFXI.

Turns out the Garlond Ironworks is a league of Eorzean Scholars and Engineers who have been trying to uncover and understand Garlean machina, in order to use it against the empire. They are working with the leaders of each of the Grand Companies. Friends and I have speculated that the chief of the Garlond Ironworks will be none other than our beloved Cid. Apparently the Garleans have sent out kill-teams to slay traveling Ironworks members, because they've been carrying valuable information against the empire.

I'm guessing the redesign of the shroud will involve it being partially burnt down by the invading Garleans, thus starting the war between Eorzea and Garlemald. If you do other sidequests, you learn that reincarnations of the twelve known as "Archons" have been rumored to appeared. This ties in with Yoshi-P's poem.

Airships? Given to use by the Garlon Ironworks to meet the Garleans in the skies.
Chocobos? Given out to company members as a means of transportation.

In addition, the quest I am doing atm speaks of the knights of Ishgard
    Spoiler: show
taking up arms against the "Wyrmking's horde".
I think it's the first time we hear about him/her/it.

Some of the Garlon Ironworks engineers (Ul'dah?) specifically said they are coming to help with the finishing touches on the cities' airships. It sounds like they are just using these sidequests as a storytelling method of introducing content (well, transportation) ... and/or prove that they are implementing it "soon."

Gridania also has garlean refugees from Garlon Ironworks come to add their technological skills to the city. Its the scrubbing the soul quest.

I did the Limsa and Ul'dah quests regarding the Empire vs the Ironworks. I would agree with your summary regarding Companies in that:

    Spoiler: show
In order to gain access to a chocobo's you will have to be a member of company, as chocobo's and airships will be modes of transportation granted to companies. Also, I think the head of the Ironworks is indeed Cid.

Added the one from Owl's Nest. Should be complete now (other than the egg one from each city but you know about those already.)
