Looking For a New Phone(Sprint)...

My Pre seems like it's on its way out, and I'm going to be looking for a new Sprint phone, but I really have no idea what's decent. A few of my friends have Evos and love them, but I know those are getting relatively old. Kinda looking at the Galaxy SII but I could use some recommendations/reviews.

Galaxy S2 is the best phone available for any carrier, there's no reason to look at anything else.

Wait until october if you can since the next "generation" of smartphones is coming out, including the iPhone 5

Otherwise wait a week or so and get the Galaxy S2.. Photon is next, but a distant next

This pretty much, honestly don't see anything else as an option. Not saying that as a negative either since those are basically the best phones that are (or soon will be) on the market.

If you want to save money, the Evo is still a solid choice though. I got mine release day and I'm still loving it, though I do keep an Ipod Touch 4 in my pocket as well for mobile gaming.

Out of curiosity, why use the touch for mobile gaming when you can use two superior hand helds like PSP or 3DS/DSi?

Because the games available for the platform are better then both of those IMO. I own a 3DS and a PSP as well. As it stands outside of Ocarina of Time and Starfox, the 3DS is a pretty awful system ATM. PSP is just plain dead, and pretty much every game I'd want to play on the platform I've already beaten.

GSII is going to be an absolute beast, not to mention the device it self is just plain sexy. If you're ballin a budget, my sister, as well as my co-worker have the Evo 4g, and sprints 4g is "decent". It's not up to par with 4G LTE, but considerably faster than regular 3g. It's a nice phone, and of course comes with HTC sense, which people seem to fap over.

I absolutely love my HTC Arrive. (W7 phone) 0 crashes since I bought the thing (you can look up my thread) and its a great looking phone with a keyboard. Its rather inexpensive, but doesnt have 4G

I'd prefer 4G, but I also like hardware keyboards. Mobile gaming I don't care too much about, if I'm not at home with access to my consoles I'm almost always somewhere doing something that doesn't lend itself to gaming. YouTube playback is definitely important though, I never realized how much so until my Pre started to get to where it could barely play yt videos and it's aggravating as shit. I'll probably go with the SII.

I'm going to be getting an upgrade shortly, and I'm debating between the Photon, and the galaxy S II. Not really sure which one I'm going to pick. I'm curious about the battery life between the two, as that's my biggest deciding factor. I like how the Photon looks over the Galaxy also.

Photon 4G and Epic Touch 4G specs are nearly identical. Big differences from what I've seen is the ET4G feels a bit cheaper and slightly larger screen where as the Photon 4G has a more solid feel to it and kickstand. Also I think currently at Best Buy, the Photon 4G is on sale for $99 w/ a new 2yr contract.

- better CPU. 1.2GHz > 1GHz

- More modding potential. Photon is locked up, S2 is unlocked and has a huge mod community

Rooting is pretty important to me, but it seems according to http://www.androidcentral.com/root-m...-longer-needed and XDA that the Photon can be rooted. I have to admit I like the look and feel of the Photon more.. the only thing that's holding me back is the specs and screen. I'm going to go to the sprint store and look at both of them in person before I upgrade, I think.

I don't think I'm going to notice .2GHZ, so it seems the screen quality in my eyes is the biggest thing atm.
