Annotated Bibliographies: The Quick And Easy Way!

One of the Saudi Arabian students I tutor needs to do an annotated bibliography on a journal article about education theory in APA format.

She has massive reading comprehension issues and she panics about not getting As all the time.

I've never done an annotated bibliography (I may have when I was in university but that was 10 years ago and it was probably done in MLA).

I've looked up on Google for some examples and suggestions but I was wondering if BG has some tips and tricks for writing a decent one that I can share with my student. Tips and tricks that will help her with the next one she does would be great, so I don't get any more panicky, crying phone calls at 11pm about getting a B on something.

Purdue OWL is your fucking friend for all things APA. My understanding is that annotated bibliographies are mostly in the APA style.

The annotations are proof that you read and understand the work you're citing, along with comparing/contrasting it with other works you've cited in the bibliography, instead of just putting down references as filler to meet the assigned minimum # of references. That's hard to do anyway since most of the time you'll have to include in-text citations when you're using someone else's ideas anyway like (Talus, 2011).
