    Warranty Information

When I bought my car I opted to pay for one of the clear plastic bras to go on my front bumper/lower hood to protect my paint from the fucking love bugs here in Florida. That was $400. Has a lifetime warranty on it.

I've had it replaced once with no problems at all, now trying to get it replaced again because its sun damaged and making my front end look like shit. Well first the dealership said they changed computer systems and have no records of me purchasing the bra. well I went up there in person and talked to them, he could tell I was pissed so he said he'd see what he could do.

fast forward and I get a phone call today. The company they used to get the bras from went out of business and they cant fix my bra, they offered to take it off for free but warned me of possible paint damage underneath the bra.

Seeing how I paid the dealership for this option, what are you opinions on routes I could take to resolve the issue. They still sell the bras just a different manufacture

Personally I work in cellphone retail, if your shit breaks and your phone has been discontinued then we replace it with a comparable model or a free upgrade since the phone being discontinued was outside of your control. I feel this is no different.

for lawlz if you want to read the horror story Ive had with the dealership, here's the thread I posted about the shitty ass paint job they sold me on the car.

the paint, they "repainted the entire car"

and by entire they meant one side, not including the bumper, so shit is still mismatched as fuck but I said fuck it, and getting it painted myself.

I showed them the lifetime warranty information and said tough shit, business went under, cant help you.

I just spend the last 30 ish minutes reading that other topic. Jesus man you are too nice. I hate seeing honest people getting jerked around by assholes in this world.
Anyway story time. I have somewhat of a similar incident I'd like to share

I have an 05 Jeep Liberty Renegade.
Back in late January of 08'(i know, old story) I went to Aamco to get my brakes done because my car's steering wheel was pulsating when i'd brake down hills etc. They checked out my car and decided I needed new brake pads, and rotors. Those 2 and the labor put it at 481.64(i still remember the god damn price to this day). So I bring it in 2 days later and sit and wait for the work to be done, 3ish hours later im done and I pay and i'm off on my merry way. Not even 1 hour after the brake job is completed, i'm driving around as my mom told me to do so I could test the brakes out and make sure there are no problems, i'm stopped at a stop light and I notice smoke coming from my back left rim(I see the smoke in my side mirror). At this point I think i'm gonna blow up(its near my gas cap/tank lol), so I pull over to the side and the rim is so hot I actually got burned when I touched it. It was so hot when I spit on it, it sizzled and evaporated. Unfortunately this was around 6PM and Aamco closed at 5PM.
Next day I go to the shop and tell them what happened, could not find a problem what-so-ever. I went back 4 different times over about 3 weeks and was told to bring it in when its happening, when its hot etc.
Even when I brought it in when it was hot, they could not find any issue with it.
So roughly early February I decide to go to Les Schwab to have them check my brakes. Turns out my pads were clamped to my rotors because the calipers were bad. At this point I've had enough with Aamco and decide to get new pads, because they were almost 50% already, and new calipers and rotors(because they were clamped so hard the rotor was being worn down) which totaled out to $491.03.
Haven't had a problem with my brakes since.
Here's the kicker. I went back to Aamco and told them what the problem was(before I let them know I got them fixed) and they wanted to charge me for new pads and rotors(I got so pissed off lol). I decided to contact my bank and dispute the charges because they did not provide what they were obligated to(per the problems with the brakes and their inability to address the problem). My bank disagreed with me and sided with them stating they did provide the correct services I needed, even though nothing worked correctly after my brakes were "fixed" by them.
I decided to file a report with the BBB(Better Business Bureau) and I could see Aamco's response about them providing the services they were obligated to, and my claim was closed before I was able to dispute their dispute.

In the end, I'm out 481.64 and never got it resolved because Aamco are dickheads. WARNING: Stay away from Aamco if you need car shit done.

I wish I could challenge and dispute this piece of shit 30,000 dollar car lol. Dealerships are douchebags.

I called back and was like since I paid for a product and I cant reap it's benefits anymore, I asked what they could do for me and he said nothing really. I'm going back in on Saturday in person and getting the answer I want. Whether it's free tuneups, upgrade to a part of mine or something, I'm just gonna stay on them, that's what I had to do with my paint and got some results after a while

Very interested in how this turns out. I'd try to look up what you could legally do, since dealerships don't wanna do jack shit unless you threaten them with losing a lot money in court.
