Fast forward about four months, and we had to rush him to the vet because he could barely walk on his own. Vet first diagnosed him with central nerve disease. Blood work later tested positive for FIV. We had him put down a day later.
I would say his health took a sharp decline over the course of a month. It was very painful to watch him suffer, as he was so loving and playful when we bought him. Though it may sound harsh and will be an emotional kick to the teeth, I strongly recommend having him put to sleep ASAP. You don't want your cat to suffer. There's nothing that can be done for FIV. You have my deepest sympathies, and I wish you the best in dealing with this.
