Blue tooth and getting the wii to work on PC

Well, I was considering getting a blue tooth device so I can play my wii on my PC. (mainly for streaming purposes) In anycase I already own a wii and all the remotes, but I was concerned with what blue tooth device I should get. I didn't want to run into any compatibility issues.

Also I was wondering how do I connect the receiver thingy to my pc so that the remote could If anyone has any guides they used personally or suggestions with what blue tooth receiver to get as my main concern is running into compatibility issues, I would really appreciate it.

edit: eh I think I found out that all i need is a powered up infra-red so I can just have my powered up wii and the remote would recognize it even though its not in my pc?

I just use some cheap $1 bluetooth dongle and it works perfectly (no dropped connections).

And yes, if you have your Wii nearby your PC, you can power your sensor bar by turning the Wii on. The Wii itself doesn't need to be connected to any display. You can also get wireless sensor bars, candles, or other IR devices.

If you're going to be playing Zelda, you're probably going to have FPS drops on anything under 4 Ghz.

Infra-red source can be from anything. Including a candle.

As for the bluetooth dongle, they run anywhere from .99 cents to $10.00 dollars depending on brand & quality.

what about an i7 2600k? Would I still have to overclock that to get good fps?

atm running amd 9850 quad core. it worked for most gamecube games without losing fps, haven't played too many wii games though, but I thought graphics were about the same more or less?

My laptop has a 2.2 ghz 3 core phenom II, and runs most wii games fine. Zelda only runs at around 75% though. I cannot imagine you having any issues with a 2600k (though not sure why you would buy a 2600k and not overclock it...).

Also, i'm totally playing my wii with candles from now on.

I bought a cheap Bluetooth adapter on Amazon but Win 7's drivers wouldn't detect the Wiimote. BlueSoleil works but it's an evaluation version (2.0MB of data before the program is unusable). I can't find a you know what version of it that actually works anywhere so I'm wondering if there are other types of software that are similar to BlueSoleil.

You're probably doing something wrong. it should work just fine with the win 7 drivers.

It's really idiot-proof. Turn PC on. Plug BT adapter. Win 7 installs drivers. Right click BT icon and click Add Device. Press 1 & 2 on Wii remote. Done.

What happens for me is that it just searches forever while the Wii remote blinks. With BlueSoleil it detects the second I hit 1 & 2 on the remote.

Yeah. Tried that after a few attempts with 1 & 2. Still nothing.

Everytime I plug in the blue tooth its being recognized as a motionjoy virtual xinput rather than an actual blue tooth. Having issues with win 7 drivers working :/

edit: Blah Finally got it to work, trying to fix all the diagnol lines that end up going through walls and doors now, not much is working though.

Some bt adapters work like this. The bluesoleil stuff is pure shit. I think I had one that came with that a long time ago and had to get another adapter to get my ps3 controller working over bt. Some bt adapters are a huge pita to get working.
