new information has come out that explains some of the differences in pvp and pve, some of these change the scope and idea of what we thought we would be able to do, thus I bring this question to you again.

guild vs guild, the type of pvp that many of us were excited about on the pve server has been listed as being ONLY available on the pvp servers. thus I ask the server type question again.

I've never been a fan of PvP in any game. I think it just leads to unneeded hostility between the community, especially in a game with no factions.

I look at it as competition but to each their own.

I understand, I've just seen people with crazy anger issues in a guild of mine in WoW that PvP'd that pretty much ruined it for me I think. >.>

Also, just incase you don't know... we WILL be on a pvp server for one of the beta phases to test it out. who knows, maybe people against it will be like "oh this isnt bad" or maybe even the PVP people will be like "well fuck this shit."

While I still prefer PvE, this type of poll is probably best served, closer to launch, when the full details of PvP are released. Example: Will crystal's break during Guild vs Guild or the people that are attacked by Outlaws (K-TERA says outlaws can have theirs break, when killed). What's the time-frame on re-challenging Guild vs Guild and what are the specific costs involved? Any rewards, aside from bragging, involved?

Honestly holding vote until we try the pvp server thing. However, the no guild vs guild thing is prolly gonna be a deal breaker for me.

GvG being PvP-server only is a bit of a disappointment. I'd still much rather do a PvE server, cause I just don't trust the community enough on a PvP; there's always going to be that one asshole out there who doesn't give a shit and will go around killing the AFKs, or attacking you from behind when you're fighting something non-instanced just to get a few laughs and a hard-on.

I don't mind giving it a chance at the very least, though, so I guess we'll see how it turns out during the next CBT.

yeah i really don't relish the idea of being ganked while doing open world bosses. it honestly sounds horribly gay and a waste of time. might be worth it because of the GvG thing though.

keep in mind, SvS is coming (eventually) in which you'll still be able to PvP on a middle map between servers(and invade?) other servers

Either way is fine for me. But, I am interested in GvG, and seeing how we can only enjoy that on PvP servers....

The GvG looks fun but like someone else said, getting ganked while fighting world bosses will probably become rather annoying because you KNOW there will be guilds out there with the only goal being they fuck up as many other guilds as possible when they are trying for non-instanced fights.

I heard(could be wrong) that BGs will be limited to PVP servers for NA CBT. I think this is EME's way to make PVP servers actually different from PVE servers.

No offense, but you should all try PVPing for at least 1 CBT phase. If you don't like it, stay in town, or in out posts, or simply run instances. The PK option is disabled in towns/OPs, and you're obviously in a private channel for instances. Trying out PVP will give all members a chance to know what PVP is really like and solidify your decision for retail. You might not like it, but you will know for sure why you don't.

WB will certainly be trying out PVP server, even though we have always leaned towards PVE for retail.
