    Windows Explorer Crashing/Restarting

Not sure what the fuck is up but, Anytime I have two windows up and Im moving data to another hard drive Windows explorer just says it's had enough of this shit and crashs and restarts, never happened with one window, just 2 or more.

Anyone experience this? It's getting fucking annoying to me now

Care to try doing it in safe mode? If it works perfectly fine then we can begin with eliminating a process in the background that might be causing it.

I assume you are running Windows 7? I normally use a Windows Restore to fix this. F8 on startup, follow the prompts. Use a repair from before it started happening.

Remove your overclock and try it again.

    This.

Overclocking is much safer now than it was, say, years ago (back when you could literally melt your chip). However it still can cause instability in your system, causing random errors. I've seen an OC do pretty much exactly what you're describing. It's a good first step.

Even if you stress test your CPU after an OC and it doesn't crash there can still be other functions that become unstable.

Hah this happened to me this morning; I've OC'ed to 4.7 :s

Okay and I'm going to sound like a dork here... but I can't for the life of me figure out how to boot into Safe Mode.
I press F8 and all it prompts me to do is select which boot device; I can't find the typical "Boot in Safe Mode" option.
    Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

The easiest way to boot into Safe Mode is to go to Run then typing in msconfig.

Check the box above, it'll force it to boot into safe mode. This will avoid you having to force crash your computer 500 times to get it to pop up.

How is that easier than holding f8 when you boot?

I think he meant most efficient. Some BIOS manufacturers will put their boot menu mapped to the F8 key. The problem with this guy is he is probably slamming F8 from the moment the PC powers on, and isn't waiting for the boot cycle to pass the BIOS.

    Check this out.

This is from back when it was beta, but an invalid menu option could still be the problem.
